Good old Mesa Arch up north at Canyonlands National Park. I shot this back in the summer of 97, back then there was just a gravel pullout to park. I did the hike and had the whole place to myself which was great, there is limited space when you are trying to set up your gear. I went back last year and now there is a big paved parking lot and there was probably 15 people all jockeying for a place to set up tripods! It's crazy out there at some of these National Parks, there is just to many photographers in the world at least for me. Maybe it's time to retire? I used my old trusty Pentax 6x7 with some Fuji Velvia 50 iso for this.

I shot this from up on top of the Sedona Airport which offers great views of the city and surrounding area. The light dusting of snow really sets off this shot. I used a Fuji Professional panoramic 6x17 film camera loaded with Fuji Velvia iso 50 film. Bogen tripod and cable release. f22 @1/8 second. Taken back in 2003 February.

I wasn't going to put this up at first, but after I scanned more of the image for a 6x12, not the usual 6x7 format that I make out of these 6x17's. I like it. Image made on Fuji Velvia iso 50 and f32@ 5 seconds. Love the water and the distant tree trunks that line Oak Creek. This is a couple miles north of Sedona, AZ.
With the Fuji Pano camera it was a rangefinder, so you had to guess at the distance and it was in meters not feet, after awhile I got pretty good at it.

A cold morning at Oak Creek Canyon north of Sedona, AZ. Shot on Fuji Velvia iso 50. This is a cropped 6x17 image made into a 6x8. They sell way better then pano's, all pano's are good for is making a print. They are a hard sell for most magazines.
I photographed this back in the winter of 2001.

The famous Mittens of Monument Valley have been photographed over a billion times at least. This is some classic 120 Fuji Velvia iso 50 that was the standard back in the 90's and early 2000. Fuji Professional Panoramic GX-617 camera with a 180mm lens and 20 magenta filter. 3228A Bogen Tripod and Acratech Ballhead, cropped down to a 6x9 with a Nikon Coolscan 8000.

Point Sublime, on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, is one of the most breathtaking vistas anywhere in the Grand Canyon! The remoteness of this area makes it less frequented than other scenic views in the park. However with a 4WD vehicle, one can drive literally onto the point and enjoy the splendor!

I was shooting the sunrise at Yaki Point when the sun popped out and hit the buttes out in front of me! Buttes of red! With the white snow it really popped. Pentax 6x7 medium format camera, 45mm lens, Fuji Velvia iso 50 film.
