This is me just 7 month ago, soaking up eagerly the beauty of Mt. Robson on early morning with 26 km hike ahead. Today is May 12 and I am exactly 6 month pregnant, an expectant mother with a beautiful little life growing inside of me. While I will be taking some time off from my wilderness adventures my husband and I are excited as never to embrace the joy of parenthood and welcome our daughter to this world in few months and yes, take her with us to pristine and breathtaking places around the world!

Happy Mother’s Day to you guys out there – who already is enjoying it as a mother or who is yet to become one ;-)

After traveling through South American Andes, Swiss Alps, California Sierra Nevada, US Rocky Mountains, Alaska I can't help myself but admit Canadian Rockies is the most beautiful place on Earth.. at least for me!

The above shot was inspired by accounts of the great traveler and photographer Marc Shandro.

Enjoy and certainly explore Canada if you did not have a chance to do it yet!

Early evening sunset at Lake Ediza, Sierra Nevada.
This is the historic place for me. My husband and I did our very first backpacking trip in US to this lake back in 2006. We have visited this lake few times since then, but here I was just by myself doing my very first solo backpacking trip :-)… happy to find the lake crowned by rugged minarets as dramatic as ever! I did not hope for a good light at all as sun sets right behind the minarets making it way less desirable view to shoot. Here however I was truly rewarded for overcoming all obstacles when making this trip – heavy clouds light up by the setting sun made it rather perfect place to be and shoot!

Last weekend happened something I was dreaming for about a year since I joined PwC - go on a business trip somewhere next to a national park... Here I am ripping off the perks of my crazy life in public accounting ;-) I was fortunate not only to land a trip to San Francisco but also do my very first solo backpacking trip! To say it was unforgettable experience would be very short and uninformative but those of you who are into backpacking will certainly understand me! Anyway, here I am, at the end of my 1st day by a side of my most loved place in Sierras- lake Ediza.. feeling soooooo happy!!!

Stay tuned for more photos from this unexpected but such an exciting trip!

A beautiful morning at Cascade pond with Mt. Rundle reflection, Baff NP, AB, Calgary.
I shot this pond few times before – in July and September, 2011. This was a surprisingly warm morning – around +15C…+17C! I remember wearing gloves and hat last July and September while doing sunrise shots and still being cold!

While life back in NYC is not getting any slower, I'm happy to finally arrive back home from a business trip (which followed immediately after my vaca in Rockies!) and get back to photo material I brought from Canada. This is my very first winter looking sunrise of Lake Moraine. I was inspired by the photo of the fellow flickrer photog Luke Austin

At first, I thought I had no chance of a good sunrise with heavy overcasted skys and then… when sun was already up I had my luck! Well, as noted by Luke – patience is well paid off in photography!

Just got back from yet another amazing trip in Canadian Rockies! This is a selfie - me soaking up the golden colors of larches and magnificent view of Rockwall.. ahead is still two more days of breathtaking views of Rockwall trail and endless km/mi of the hike :-)

Hello from Yukon!

It’s been just few days since I got back from the best place in the world – Canada!!!!!!!!!!!! The trip was an emotional rollercoaster and just getting there was an adventure on its own! 15 hrs one way, three flights! Our bag with tent poles got lost in Toronto and we had to delay our trip by 3 days (yak!). Then when we finally made it to Dempster and Tombstone – everyday it was a rollercoaster of such a rugged wild scenes, unobstructed views of endless mountain ridges, vistas… and all with crazy fall colors! The weather was changing several times a day sometimes, we’ve been thru several rain and snow storms… but gosh!! It’s all worth it! North is just insanely beautiful and hiking/backpacking opportunities seem to be endless there! I’ve met many awesome people there and just like them keeping coming back there for several years now, I am very certain I will do just the same! It feels like once you open your heart to the North… it’s stays with you forever and the only thing you can do to make yourself feel happy is to schedule another trip there! 

To all my flickr friends! Thanks a lot for your time, comments and information on my upcoming trip to Yukon! As of last Friday, I got two partners, we have car and tix!!! Flying to Whitehorse on Aug 31!! (I can barely hold my excitement). Those who won't be joining me this time around, I wish you all guys to discover that magnificent place rather sooner than later!! :-) In the meantime, I am posting another shot from my 2011 Canadian adventure!

As always, I am on the search for partners for my future adventures - contact me if you are interested - I will be very happy to share info I have or set a trip together!!

This is a classic view of the Tombstone Range and Monolith Mountain from the view point of Grizzly creek trail- a breathtaking view after merciless climb of 1hr or so... Clearly, we did not have much luck with the sun that day, yet I'm still posting snap as even without bright spots on the slopes, colors were so intense and saturated. Enjoy!
