Light - I never knew that light would become one of the things that made my heart beat faster. Something I chase and am always looking for. I see it blanket the room and cast shadows and my heart feels happy. It brightens my mood. As I sit in my chair in the morning, I am constantly leaning over to the left to see if the sun is coming up over the trees yet. I see it spilling over the valley, the rays splitting through the trees and casting that golden glow that makes everything look better and I run outside like a 5 year old with my camera. There is a time in the evening, too, when it makes the sand look like tiny gold flecks. Pure magic.

I will always be looking for - and loving - the sweet light.

They were taking pics.

It was cloudy all day today. Even rained and I think I heard thunder at one point. It was sort of a nice change.

Toward the end of the day, I could see some cool clouds and blue sky toward the beach. I just had a feeling it was going to end amazing. I made a last minute decision to just get in the car and go.

Glad I did.

I so love this shot.

We went to Kirkwood for a little getaway with Anna's friend and my amazing sister in law. I am going to skip the July challenge photos for those days and pick up today or tomorrow.

We had such an excellent time. Memories I will cherish forever. Since I was just trying to relax, a lot of these were taken with my cell phone.

Even her sick days are pretty great. Poor thing has been feeling crappy for almost the whole week. I went to work one day this week. But, I cannot lie - being home with my baby and cuddling with her and taking care of her isn't the worst thing. It is something I love. I hate her not feeling well, but I love time with her.

She has a virus and has just been barely eating. Today, we got total cabin fever and went to a park and to visit the horses for an hour. We needed to get out.

There is a neat park close by with a covered bridge and across that bridge are stables. I ache when I go there. I want a horse again so very bad, but no time now. It will happen sometime in the next 10 years. The smells of the barn make me feel at home. I really miss riding.

So I drop Anna off at a sleepover last night just before 5:00.
I know my time is limited to get to Natural Bridges to watch the sun go down.
I get on the freeway and some A-hole is in the freaking fast lane going 55.
HELLLOOOO!!!
Flash brights. Cuss. Wave my hands in the air.
He pulls over.
I fly by.
This blaring on my stereo.
I finally get there and park illegally.
Next to car I notice as a co-worker/friend.
Run out, say hi, start snapping.
See Rob up to my right taking photos too!

Such a great fucking vibe.
OMG.

I drove home happy. With the Santa Cruz sunset buzz.

it's funny how titles come to you when you see photos.

and this title is not meant in a bully way, but in a she's going to conquer the world way. maybe not totally, but I see her as such a confident young woman.

it is funny how as a parent, the shift moves from you to them. all you want is the best for your babies. no matter how old they are.

Today we went to see my husband's uncle in the hospital who is clinging to life. He is one of my favorite people because he has so much spunk. He is a total shit disturber and I love that. I told him that he had to get out of the hospital because I knew he had so much more ass to kick. Just made me feel lucky. And to want to live life to the fullest.

Just remember how good we have it...

I did a little photo shoot for a friend yesterday who's boyfriend is in the military. I wanted her to be able to send him some nice photos of his beautiful children.

We got to the beach and it was freezing and windy. So cold! So everyone was sort of miserable, but rallying. These are just a few photos we took in about 30 minutes. Got about 35 really nice shots.

It doesn't hurt that these people are gorgeous either : )
