Rusty Chains

I was out photographing a local church when I spotted these rusty chains being used to secure the gates of a field. The gates had clearly been closed for a very long time as the padlock was equally rusty.

I was photographing some farm buildings when I spotted this photograph. One of the farm’s green grain stores was looking a bit weathered with the paint flaking and the bolts going rusty. I love the textures and colours the weather and lighting produced.

No Way Abstract

I often visit a Railway museum in Oxfordshire call Didcot Railway Centre. It is a rich in photographic material. I often spend my time looking at the finer detail of the locomotives, carriages and buildings. On this particular visit I spotted numerous words painted on the sides of carriages. I isolated the word way on this carriage; I loved the textures and detail.

I often visit a Railway museum in Oxfordshire call Didcot Railway Centre. It is a rich in photographic material. I often spend my time looking at the finer detail of the locomotives, carriages and buildings. On this particular visit I spotted two rusty metal washers on the footplate of a locomotive. I have no idea how long they had been there but they were gone the next day so I was lucky to photograph them.

The hammer pictured was sitting on the side plate of a steam locomotive at Didcot Railway Center near Oxford.

Didcot Railway Center is home to two lines, the Main and Branch lines, a Broad Gauge railway, 1932 Engine shed, Great Western Trust museum, Locomotives, Coaches and Wagons. There is a locomotive works shed where locomotive restorations are carried out, Carriage and Wagon workshop where the carriages and wagons are housed and restored. There are also two signal boxes and a level crossing. There is a fully working turntable and coal stage.
