This is Barbie Q in her original costume. A local barbecue shop uses her to attract attention and business. She caused enough controversy in the neighborhood to warrant coverage in the Cincinnati Enquirer as well as in the national media. Perhaps you can see why she might be the most famous mannequin in the world.

Clifton neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio.
I can't remember how this shot placed in the club's contest, but it did relatively well which is a very high complement because the judge is one of the most accomplished photographers I have ever seen and is rather picky. The fact that he said good things about my work meant a great deal.

I saw this bench when I was coming out of a theater around the corner and, loving yellow, just had to take some shots. This is another case of being glad I almost always have my P&S camera with me. Not very long after this, someone painted it white and it wasn't long before it was gone and replaced by someone's idea of neighborhood beautification. The replacement seating certainly doesn't have the character and history of this bench.

In recent years, Clifton is the scene for what we call the chalk festival (more officially known as "Street Scapes") where artists draw paintings on a blocked off street with chalk. These are some of the tools one artist was using.
