Cassowary Plum (Cerbera floribunda) - fruit and leaves

Cerbera floribunda - Australian native tree. It is tall rainforest tree (grows to 25m).
Apocynaceae family (oleander family)

These large, blue fruits contain a sap which is poisonous to humans and most animals, except the endangered Southern Cassowary. For humans even smoke from the burning Cerbera wood could be poison.

The Cassowary’s stomach is filled with a rare combination of digestive enzymes, which make it immune to the toxic alkaloids of the Cassowary Plum fruits. This is lucky for the tree, as the Cassowary is the only bird large enough to eat the fruits intact (not sure how the bird swallows such a large seed...), which assists with seed dispersal and germination for the Cassowary Plum.
Unfortunately there are not many Cassowary left...

Fruit like this botanically called dehiscence - means splitting at maturity.
Gomphocarpus fruticosus subsp. fruticosus,
more known as Asclepias fruticosa ( basionym),
or simply as Swan Plant Milkweed, and many more common names: balloon-cotton, duckbush, gooseplant, narrow-leaf cottonbush...
Family: Apocynaceae subfamily: Asclepiadoideae.

Native to Africa,
Grows as a weed in Australian forest in glades and clearings.

No common name, but I would call it 'rubber tree':
The tree yields a rubber which at one time attracted some interest in southeastern Africa, but it contains a high amount of gum (68%) and is of no commercial value.

Common Australian Rainforest vine - Common Silkpod, Monkey Rope.

It has ~10cm long green pods with silky hair inside.
This plant was photographed in Chapel Hill forest reserve (Brisbane)

Quite a nice surprise I found in Australian southern coast near Melbourne.

Blue flowers of Periwinkle Vinca minor - immigrant from Ukraine and Russia.

Another surprise - this perennial herb is relative to Oleander and Frangipani (the same family) You can click on the tag 'Apocynaceae' to see more photos of this family plants

Beaumontia grandiflora (Herald's Trumpet )
Breathtaking trumpet flowers! They are large and have strong sweet aroma - stronger that its relative frangipani flowers.
It is a woody very large rambling vine, deciduous.
Flowing in late winter and early spring, as I can see it :)
Native to India and Nepal (Himalayas)

Shrub in rainforest in Cania Gorge National park, Australia.
I am not sure what species of Alyxia it is. It has dark green, stiff, sharp pointed leaves,
possibly small leaved form of Alyxia ruscifolia .
Another option - A. sharpei
