I was so lucky to be in Mexico for work - and getting the days off - when they celebrate the day of the dead.
I was told that the place to be was on Janitzio an island in a huge lake north of the city Pátzcuaro in the state Michoacán. It was a drive of a little under 400km from the place I was work, but thought what the hell, when will I be in Mexico on the day of the dead again, so off I went. I took me 1½ day to get there, and on the evening of the day of the dead I was there. But nothing was happening, people where just walking around doing their normal stuff.
the were some sort of festivities on the central square of the island, but it was all in Spanish so I didn't quiet get what it was all about.

Well anyway, when I'm some where interesting - and don't misunderstand me, it was a nice place - and have my camera with me I'm never bored, so I just started to walk around the island making photos of this and that.

And that's when I found this guy, he was really drunk but also very cool looking, standing there counting his money. maybe to see if he had just enough money for one more shoot of tequila.

The moral of the story, might be that you should never give up, even though the thing you went out to photograph doesn't turn out the way you expected, there are some great photos there anyway.

I just got little under a month left here in Mexico, so far it's been a pleasure being here, the Mexican people are so nice and friendly, the only downside is, that I don't speak Spanish - and only a few of them speaks English. A little advise, if you're planing on going to Mexico, learn a little Spanish, it will get you though a little easier.

I was asked to make at HDR photo of the hostel I stayed at in Siem Reap, by the owner, or actually is was my Tuk-tuk driver and friend Mab how asked me, but it was the "boss-man" who wanted it.
Normally I don't do this sort of stuff, but I thought what the hell, let's do this one, just for the fun of it.
I said that I wouldn't do it for free, and that my pries was around of beers to the tuk-tuk drivers that hang around the hostel every evening - Mab being one of them - he agreed and I quickly gained a lot of new friends, which is always nice.

I made this one in January this year, it was right after I had spend two and half weeks driving around the west coast with my parents and younger brother. I had dropped them off at the San Francisco airport and continued on to Yosemite, where I had planed to stay for a few days before I had to catch my plane home.

I had been to the park in the summer of 2010, but because of some personal stuff, I didn't really see and enjoy it, so this was sort of a catch up on what I had missed visit.

A while ago I - together with my younger brother - were asked to make some stills of a theater performance for a friend.
As you know I like doing concert photography when an opportunity comes along, and I approached this session sort of in the same way as I do concerts, but because we didn't it on a rehearsal day, we could stop the actors and make them "rewind" a little any time we wanted to and get the photo we wanted to, and that was very cool, cause opposite concert photography where you have to be alert and ready to capture the right moment in a second - which is also fun - you could take down you camera a sit and watch the actors move around and when you saw something interesting, you just made them stop and rewind so you could have a closer look.

It's defiantly not the last time I've done theater photography.

When I was in Mexico, I rented a Jeep Wrangler - one of the coolest cars I ever rented - and on my days off from work, I went driving around the local area, going down every dirt road I came by, many of them ended in a barb wired fence, but once in a while it was a road that went on deeper in to the jungle, and on some of these I found some interesting things to photograph.

Like the guy on the photo above. remember this was right after the hurricane Nova that hit hard on the Mexican west coast in October 2011, and the storm had totally ruined his corn field, breaking every crop, I don't know if he had other fields in the area that where ok, but this fields crops were gone.

But he seamed to be in a good mood after all, and he told - in Spanish, which I don't understand that much off - all about how the hurricane had ruined the crop and a lot more which I didn't fully understood.

First one from Cambodia.

I was making photos of some guys playing petanque and these boys where very interested in what I was doing, which made me turn around and make a few photos of them. which they didn't mind at all on the contrary they seamed to like it, course they smile big time and laugh a little when I showed them the photos on the LCD on the back of my camera.

Here's another one from my trip to north Jutland a little more than a month ago. The name of the hotel is Svinkløv Badehotel, badehotel means "bath hotel" if you translate it directly from Danish, but the real meaning is that "bade" means to go for a swim in the ocean, and well "hotellet" means the hotel, so the name would be something like "go for a swim hotel"

On my 2010 US road trip I ended up in the middle of a thunder-storm in Utah, as I was driving along the sun started to go down, and I saw in my rearview mirror, that the sky was divided in to two colors, yellow on the side with the sunset and blue on the side with the thunder-storm.
I quickly back the car on the side of the road, and pulled out my tripod to get some photos of that beautiful sky.
