we had a great cruise out to one of the Great Barrier Reef cays, where we drift snorkeld over the fish and coral..

Just listening to ABC666 local radio in Canberra at 11:25am on 10th Jan 2013 and Rory McLeod the folk singer harmonica player, had worked on the Golden Plover for a spell...

We parked on the sealed road and walked through the scrub on a bit of a track to the beach. Many others drove up the beach from Rainbow Beach to see the beached ship. We walked up to within 100m, but the security people kept us all away as they commenced the salvage. Brought in a large tow truck and winches, but have to Google the results as we headed off on the rest of our Aug. 2007 .

An Indonesian Navy sailing ship freed from a beach near Fraser Island is about to dock in the Brisbane River for repairs.

"The Arung Samudera became stranded on Rainbow Beach last week during a wild storm."

We were camped at Carlo, near Wide Bay for a few days to shelter from the storm that washed 100s of campers off Fraser Island!!! They came in to join us in the caravan park, where we had 941mm in a few nights... see www.flickr.com/photos/spelio/3640481255/

This was the whole development before the bottom unit was moved to near Kurraba Jetty, due to the resumption of the foreshore for the new Garden Island drydock etc.

That is one of his boats, the first "Dindema". When the unit was moved to Kurraba Rd., he would commute to the city in a launch, that was housed in the boat shed under the house.

Have had this 2 1/4 " slide for years, and after Jill got her new EOS, I thought I'd have a go at copying the transparency.
Just popped it into my cardboard tube mount, and clicked.
It is quite detailed at full size. The original was taken on my work Hasselblad 500ELM.
