Norwalk Harbor is one of the oldest seaports on the eastcoast, dating as far back to the Original Thirteen Colonies. This pretty scene is both pro and novice photographer's delight.

Hi great friends! Good to be back with wonderful friends. Thanks for being there for me with words of encouragement and prayers for a speedy recovery. I began with chemo again last week and to continue for the next 6 months.

Now I'm doing what I love best in life, sharing my work with terrific fellow photographers, and I want to start things off with this beautiful photo, which I appropriately named, "A New Day." I do hope and pray that the words in this message find each of you in marvelous health. Amen!

Wooden Pier

This pretty scene of the wooden pier was shot on a cloudy day. Simply put, a gloomy day. No shadows or hot spots to deal with. Contrast between sky and foreground blended nicely. This was not a night capture shot, but I turned it into one with a whole lot of delicate post processing.

The foreground, pier, water and rocks and background, sky and clouds, had to be edited separately to give the illusion of moonlight night effect in which to create the dramatic reflection of the pier in the water. I took the background sky and clouds from another photo and edited that into the shot.

Replica, with paddle wheel, of the ol' fashion steam ferry. Constructed of wood with modern day advancement and primarily used for all recessional purposes or for any celebration.

I love to creatively explore beyond the limits of reality simply to discover what can be achieved when the rules of the spectrum are altered or even violated to create a madness of color schemes. And I did just that with the gray squirrel. Trust me, no harm came to the squirrel during this process.

I just love the way I knock myself out with the weird things I do with photography.

How interesting it is at times when we come upon a subject with lacking interest and present ourselves with a challenge on how to make the shot interesting...put life into a subject that is lifeless. As accomplished photographers we put our photographic talents to the test, using our cultured skills and find the correct equation for a marvelous capture. And it was a bitter cold morning and come to realized as I gazed over the 2 mile long beach, I was the only lunatic out in the freezing cold with a camera.

Old wood pylons once used as tide breaker barrier, show the faith of their long time existence. Tired, exhausted, slowly decaying their long struggle against the weather elements. The only purpose left to them is a perch for seagulls. And now, just a memory, never to reveal the beauty of their once sturdy existence. So true for all of us as well. But then again, we're not made of wood either to say the least that we too, follow the same path, hopefully not to be used as a perch for seagull droppings.

There may be times we suddenly find ourselves filled with an emptiness we cannot hide from. A sound of silence to painful to bear and wonder aimlessly asking ourselves, "Why is this happening?" A conflict is occurring struggling to rip our existence apart. And the one option we had left is to fight back. We not only see that in ourselves, but with Mother Nature when she surrendered her once radiant existence in the autumn and struggles her existence through the dark winter months ahead, not with an empty promise, but with a promise to live beautifully once again. This particular scene is marvelous all year round producing the most natural spectuclor effects. On the way home from another shooting location, I notice this awesome view and a sin to pass it up. It was a once in a life time shot that may never occur again. I've shot this scene many times over the years, but nothing so beautiful as this that night.
