I posted this one the other day but had to remove it immediately due to a technical problem, so here we go again.
Shot under an umbrella while it was raining really hard. The long exposure makes it impossible to see the drops, but believe me, I got pretty wet.
Anyway, the bridge you see is Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II.

A couple of words about this shot, which was taken some minutes and steps away from the one I posted yesterday.
As I was choosing how to compose the shot and what to include in the picture, the first thought was to move ahead and skip the grid and the debris trapped in it. But I quickly changed my mind. Sure, the need for a foreground element was part of my decision. But the main reason was that part of the feeling of that New Year's Day afternoon - you know, the weariness and post-celebration blues - seemed caught in the grid too.
That is how Rome was the other day, and what I tried to capture.

I took this one yesterday, right under Ponte Garibaldi (Garibaldi Bridge).
I wasn't expecting the river to be so high, as we haven't seen much rain here lately. But it was a nice surprise and I was glad to have my ND filter with me.

Yesterday I bought a fisheye lens and went out at night to try it out. I chose one of the locations I have most fun shooting, the bridge which just few days ago has been renamed "Ponte Settimia Spizzichino".
I have posted other pictures of this bridge in the past, when people called it "The bridge of Science", but I really like how this one here came out.
Not too bad for a late night experiment.

To take this shot I woke up at 4:30am. The weather wasn't great at that time but I decided to give it a shot anyway and I was rewarded. Not only did I witnessed the best sunrise I could imagine, but I also got to enjoy the awakening of this beautiful city.

To celebrate Saints Peter and Paul, Rome's primary patrons, on Friday June 29 took place the 5th edition of "The Girandola of Sant’Angelo", a spectacular fireworks show which takes place over Castel Sant'Angelo.
It was a fantastic event which I was lucky enough to witness.

What you see here is the "Bridge of Science" (Ponte della Scienza), and in my opinion is one of the most beautiful examples of contemporary architecture in Rome.
It is not ready yet, but we are getting close. I'll show you different views of it in the next days, all taken at my own risk since I had to stand in the middle of the road to get angles I wanted.
Many drivers were not happy at all with my presence, but I pretended not to hear their "comments".

A night shot of Rome's Auditorium "Parco della Musica".

Auditorium Parco della Musica is a large multi-functional public music complex in Rome, Italy. The complex is situated in the north of the city, in the area where the 1960 Summer Olympic Games were held.

Parco della Musica was designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano. Three large concert halls are structurally separated to ensure soundproofing, though joined at the base by a continuous lobby. A fourth "concert hall", called Cavea, is the open air theater recalling ancient Greek and Roman theaters. The fan-shaped layout is formed around the central piazza. Structures have several nicknames such as blobs, beetles, scarabs, turtles, insect carapaces, computer mice.

The Parco della Musica was formally inaugurated on 21 December 2002; in few years it became the world's most visited music facility with over one million spectators in one year.
