I'm so incredibly amazed at several things in this photo:

- They are both smiling.
- They are both looking at the camera.
- It is in focus.
- It didn't get eaten by the computer

I'm not thrilled about the background, but given the odds against the first three all happening at once, I'm pretty damn satisfied. This is from our recent trip to show the boys the Cliff Dwellings at Mesa Verde (they were running some special programs in combination with their centennial celebration).

Goodbye Texas

So on our short drive through texas, we discovered that they have different speed limits for day and night driving and mostly have no rest areas (just picnic areas or rest stops (no bathroom facilities). However, in one particular spot along I-40, there are a pair of stunning and immaculate facilities that put to shame any other rest stops that I've seen in the US. This one (which we ended up stopping at going both ways - long story) had a covered playground, an interpretive center about wind power in Texas, texas-shaped BBQ grills, telescopes. In short, the works. It's good to know that's at least one good thing about Texas :)
