Abandoned farm located on the Langanes peninsula, the north-easternmost part of Iceland. Came across this while working on the weather experience project which started in 2011. I'm hoping to get the project finished this year, donations to help cover expenses have been a huge help and are still greatly appreciated. Everyone who donates 15$ or more will be added to a list of those that get a PDF of the book once its done (so it's more of a pre-order thing really). I've also decided that each and every person who helps out will get their name on the "Special Thanks" list I'm putting at the back of the book :)

Terribly pleased with this, weird as it is.

Taken on Melrakkaslétta, in NE Iceland. The area is populated with quite a few of these odd characters. I'll have to return with more film when I get a chance.

The abandoned farm Heiði, on the Langanes peninsula.
As I've been mentioning since April, my boyfriend Óli and I have been working on a large-scale project involving the weather and a black dress, which has brought us to numerous interesting locations I've never before found reason to visit.
We came across this place in early October, on our way back from Fontur, the north-easternmost point of Iceland, and one of the locations included in the project.

This is taken in July 2008, at the same time as this one. During the same trip up north, I made this series, which I've never shown before, and had mostly forgotten about.

Check out my Pixiq blog for a look at (in addition to various other articles) my approach to square format landscapes, which may come in handy if you don't happen to own a medium format film camera, which would probably be the optimum way to shoot landscapes in square.

If you hadn't seen the previous shot from this photoshoot, I spent a week creating this costume, climbed for 15 minutes up a steep foothill to get here, and am perched on a narrow ledge, tempting fate.
