Nestled in one of the many coves in Bullfrog Bay, a houseboat is draped in the golden light of a sunset made more dramatic by the cloudy remnants of unsettled weather earlier in the afternoon.

By photographer's standards, I was pretty lazy at Lake Powell! It was all I could do to get up by 7:00 a.m. to catch a shot of the still water in Moki Canyon before, like clockwork, a ski boat went by to churn things up. Sure enough, 30 seconds after this shot an early morning group of water skiers went by and the glassy water was gone!

Clark's Fork of the Yellowstone River flows along the Beartooth Highway with a pointy looking Pilot Peak (11,699 ft.) dominating the landscape for miles around.

The Golden Gate Bridge is seen from Cavallo Point near Sausalito, California. It was quite windy this afternoon so the foreground foliage was all over the place. To eliminate the movement I blended a 5 exposure handheld hdr for the top and one of the raw images for the bottom of the frame.

Fall Creek Sunrise

The sun rises over the South Fork of the Snake River in Swan Valley, Idaho. Fall Creek Falls is in the lower left.

I've taken this shot before but just as the Nikon D800 ad says..."SORRY BUT YOU'RE GOING TO WANT TO RESHOOT EVERYTHING YOU'VE EVER SHOT."

One of the fun and challenging aspects of photography is progression, doing something new or better, learning a new skill or method. Jay Masiel said that while art is thousands of years old, photography is a little over a hundred years old. We have barely scratched the surface of what can be done! So...shoot it again, make it better, make it unique, make it new again and relish every step of this journey that has no end.

This beautiful VW bug was parked at Fort Baker in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. The color of the car matched so well the "international Orange" of the bridge and seemed very appropriate for the 75th Anniversary. I could not resist the shot!
