check out the animation below made from all four frames of the image above.
Taken with a Nishika N800 at the battle reenactment in Perryville earlier this month.
I've yet to figure out what the crappy color is all about. I'm still working on it. I just had to give this a try...and... I DID IT! My first attempt at animation ever!!

I've been thinking that if the photos from this camera are gonna be quirky, then I'm just gonna take advantage of it and play with them. So here is a single frame from one of the sets, after it's been run through a plug-in in Photo Shop. I can have lots of fun playing with plug ins and various effects!

Sunlight on the field

surfinsandy23 posted a photo:

Just when I thought I was done taking sunrise photos, the sun broke through, and cast a warm glow on the field before me.

I took tons of photos both mornings of the sun coming up. I wanted to try all my lenses, and some new filters I had. Silly-me changed all the file names when I transferred them off the card so the only way to remember what is what, is to use file rescue. Or I could guess!
Doesn't really matter. Either the images are good enough to share, or they are not.
I love sunrise and sunset photos, and I love foggy scenery. The world seems magical when the light is golden, and it seems mystical when it is foggy. Getting a chance to photograph either, for me, is a rare occasion, so when I was given both, I clicked that shutter many many times. I'm trying not to seem repetitive adding more of these photos, just trying to share the subtle changes of that magical, mystical morning!

Cannon in the back yard

surfinsandy23 posted a photo:

The landscape here at Perryville Battlefield is still very much like it was the day of the battle. It's one reason reenactors like coming here so much. It's much easier to imagine what the soldiers saw that day, and it also reminds us that the battle was fought in civilians' back yards. One story I read told of how one family looked out their door after the battle and saw their land covered with bodies of dead and dying men. The family's land was used as a shallow grave, and later, after a heavy rain, it washed away the soil to re expose the bodies. The family is said to have moved away after that.

I was experimenting with some new filters on this morning, and settings on the camera. With the constantly changing light as the sun came up, I got a wide variety of results. Not all good, but many were just great!
