The basketball arena at London 2012 is one of the main stadia in the Olympic Park. Designed by a team that included WilkinsonEyre as architects, it's a temporary structure that will be taken away after the Paralympic Games.

Gosh! A year has flown by so quickly. So many things have happened, much has changed and plenty is new. But friendships and birthdays are a constant. And so...

Happy birthday Barbara! Have a tiptoptastic day and I hope to see you soon.

The picture is of a light scuplture on the South Bank by Martin Griffiths. It's called After Tavener, in honour of Sir John Tavener, the modern composer. Tavener wrote a piece called The Protecting Veil. I heard it for the first time last night and was entranced and de-stressed all at once. Barbara - I hope the music helps you relax after your long and crazy days at work!
