went to see the flypast after getting a heads up from Garry (thanks mate). Didn't get the shot I was after as the flight lines were different to what I expected. The plan was for my wife to drop me off park up for half an hour then pick me up.It was absolutly rammed with people and cars from Bamford to half way over the snake pass. Ashopton bridge became like a scene from a disaster movie after the flypast and I ended up having to drive over the snake to Glossop and back over the Woodhead pass (100 mile round trip) oh and as I walked back to the car with the camera packed away the two Tornados came over again as a synchro pair unexpectedly so I missed that too!

Always a bit edgy doing street candids as inevitably you will get a "screamer".
Why is it that if you take photos with a mobile thats fine but pull out a DSLR and you're instantly seen as a bank robber/pervert/ terrorist? I was shooting in the city last week and a woman walking past said to her friend "why would anyone want a photo of an office block" is the concept of photography so alien to people?

Brushing up on my panning technique during an overcast afternoon.( Bit gutted actually as while driving to this location I passed a Porsche 911 towing a caravan which I thought I would never see but couldn't get to my camera!)

Was on my way to Ladybower today as the air was quite still but Bamford was blocked with police cars so I decided to park the car and head to Bamford mill instead. Just as I was walking away I heard the sound of a chopper and guessed it was the Air Ambulance looking for a place to land. I just had time to get to the church yard to see it land and the paramedics rush to the accident. ( a cyclist and a car). I hung around in the church yard till it took off again but without any casualties (don't know if that was good news or bad regarding the cyclist) Bamford was still closed when I left.
P.S these are the helos that the US navy coast guard use and a quick web search revealed that you can pick up a used one for four and a half million quid!
