A little village near me called Denford, this house nestles next to the Church and backs onto a part of the river Nene, it has views across open countryside for miles. Whilst I was taking this there was a game of Boules going on in the Church Yard, the distant sound of balls clacking, laughter and bunting flapping could be heard. Me thinks that is my understanding of Idyllic.

Not a favourite pass time of mine, taking selfie's, but as today is my 48th Birthday I thought I would do one.
Rather than sit on my bum trying to look intelligent I did this in my Gym in the garden, it says a lot about me as suffer from being a control freak (but only with regards to myself) I expect the men to rib me (maybe the women too). I do train on a regular basis, healthy body, healthy mind and all that.

Staying with the bird theme, not a speciality of mine, but I have always wanted to capture one of these magnificent birds (and not under the wheels). We have huge amounts of them in this area due to the large country estates and the British penchant for killing anything that moves.

My Cockerel has just been Explored, well I never ;-)

Coldest windiest day of the last winter, deep with snow. I felt really sorry for this fellow and thought he would probably be warmer in the Freezer Dept. shrink wrapped. But I have to say he is as hard as nails, saw him yesterday and still has the attitude :-).

Hi all, Liked this shot because the turbines looked so threatening over the farm house. I have paired it with a view in the other direction. This is the Burton Latimer Round House celebrating Wellington's victory. It is unusual in that it sits pretty much in the middle of nowhere and has a great history. The Duke of Wellington used to visit his very good friend General Arbuthnott who owned this land and lived local. They were riding out one day when the Duke stated how the lie of the land and trees reminded him of the battlefield at Wellington, so the good General had the round house built to commemorate this fact. It became a Public House at a later date and there are some amusing stories of Gypsy goings on and Police in undercover raids :-)

Have photographed these weed/thing seed head in the past but this time i just pushed them up against the lens to see what came out, I like the light and shapes. :-)

Due to the sunshine and warmth today I can actually bring myself to look at this and post it. Just after this shot the wind blew an inordinate amount of freezing water off the thatched roof straight down the neck of my coat and all over my camera :-(

Tresham family home never completed. Taken Friday morning on the way home from work. After the months of rain it was far too glorious to sleep.

Legend of the Tree of the Dead

Legend has it that this ancient tree was used to hang all the people found guilty in the ancient forest of Rockingham, cut down several years ago because of its bloody history and advancing age.
The woodsman were removing the cuts to be used on fires etc when they became spooked and would swear that the tree groaned and moaned at them. To this day the remains sit on the same spot, few people venture to view it, deep in the woods, alone and in misery at its own bloody history.....
Or maybe I just made it all up ;-)
