The gorgeous tiger tree snake in the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. Recently, this snake has become my new favorite subject at the Academy. I can sit and watch him for quite a while. On this visit, I decided to get a little closer and like the contrast between the smooth scales and the rough branch. Thanks to Becky for joining me on this outing. A great time as always.

One of the legendary F-4J Phantom jets on the flight deck of the USS Hornet in Alameda, CA. A premier fighter jet in its time, the F-4 established 16 speed, altitude, and time-to-climb records. These jets were in service from 1960 through 1996. This was one of my favorite jets as a kid and I built a few of these myself (at 1/72 scale of course). Since the USS Hornet is supposedly a very haunted ship, the Phantom's presence is fitting as well.

An emerald tree boa at the Oakland Zoo. This is a fantastic zoo if you haven't been here and this snake is one of my favorite residents. Emerald tree boas are found in the rainforests of northern South America, can grow up to 5.5 feet long, are non-venomous constrictors, and feed at night on a diet primarily consisting of small mammals and birds. Thanks to Tim for joining me this day.

A shot of the Ferry Building and a portion of San Francisco's skyline as seen from the passenger seat while driving on the Bay Bridge. I would very much like to set up a series for a pano shot from this location (particularly at sunset/twilight), but the likelihood of either death or arrest seem a bit high to make this happen. One day maybe I'll find a way, but until then, enjoy this teaser.
