It Lurks in the dark

Canon 580 exII shoot through umbrella - camera left 45 degrees
Nikon sb800 x2 - behind subject. One facing back toward the camera and the other facing down the tunnel lighting the walls.

I shot this last night kind of by the Great Salt Lake. This tunnel is old and abandoned. It was pretty creepy. It's the sort of place they find the dead bodies on shows like "Bones" and "CSI." I really like this shot because it captures the creepy feel of this place. The shadow on the wall worked out perfectly. I dont know if you all have seen the movie "vanishing on 7th Street" (probably the worst movie i have ever seen) but this kind of reminds me of those shadows.

I borrowed a Tilt Shift lens this weekend to shoot a wedding. It was a blast. Being able to precisely control your focus is amazing. Anyway i ran out to to the Great Salt Lake to shoot some landscapes before I had to return the lens. (sad moment) Oh and by the way I'm trying out some new watermark ideas. Any feedback would be great. This is the first new one out of three or four. Let me know what you think.

The Golden Glow With the Golden Snow

I trudged through knee deep snow in khakis and some boat shoes yesterday to get this shot. 100% worth it. I didn't think that there would be THAT much snow up there. Just as I started setting up my shot facing the opposite direction, i turned and saw this golden/orange glow. I hurried, turned around and took one shot before it disappeared. I learned a valuable lesson yesterday. Always watch your back. Sometimes super cool things are happening and you could easily miss them.

Winter hit us fast this week. Well at least a glimpse of winter. it snowed yesterday. Funny thing is the weather was great at the start of the week. Oh well I guess that's Utah.
