You need a magnifying glass to see some of the orchids, including Platystele microtatantha, one of the world's smallest flower. It is found in 1000 / 2000 meters humid / warm to cold forest in Costa Rica.

Each flower is 1,5 mm wide and whole plant is from 1 to 10 cms wide with vigorous micro blooming

This is an old ´out of use´ remote farm, now located next (or inside?) La Amistad International Park. By far, this is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been into. It is a small cow pasture with LOTS of forest around, many rivers, good weather and 4x4 car access. It is around 10 kms away from La Lucha, San Vito. It was the entrance point to Punta Mira and Coto Brus, two more old and remote farms into the mountains. That day I made all trails running and I enjoyed them A LOT, it was a quite pleasant and wild experience.

The next day I climbed to Pando Peak (2500mts high), what means my legs were destroyed !!

For years I wanted to know its name until I found it at Lankester Garden. Each flower is 6 or 7mm wide and has a very nice cinamon aroma. It needs lots of light and water to grow like little trees. It is a very cute species. I am sorry Ralph, it took so many time, but this is the name !!! It is also published as Camaridium microphyton

This is a nice Oncidinae that is seen some times growing in Cypress trunks, from 1200 to 2000 meters high. The flowers are 20mm wide.

It comes from Siquirres, 200 meters high, a warm to hot and very humid environment. These plants are growing all around in little trunks where they get a lot of light. The flower is 12mm across and it produces 3 to 5 flowers at the same stalk which are taller than the rounded leaves.

Affinis to P bivalvis / P angusta. It comes from Navarro, 1600 meters high, where it can be found growing directly on the ground in shaded and humid places. The plant is some of 44cms tall and the flowers are 15mm tall.

This is not the best shot but perhaps some one can help me to Id this plant. It is a very fragant and big blooming, it grows in shaddy places from 500 to 1500 meters and warm climate.

A rare Pleurothallis found near to atlantic coast in hot / humid shaddy place. One flower at a time, short ramicaul apical 1cm blooming.

Aff. Pleurothallis brighamii but common characteristics are definitely different from P. brighamii .

This is a thinny orchid that lives in shaded places about 1500-2000 meters in moderate warm-humid regions. Flowers are about 1 cm long, leaves are about 1,5 cms. It is a ver atractive and cool miniature orchid ;)

Also known as Pleurothallis sp, this is a 1cm wide flower, the plant is numerous 1cm long leaves. Blooming is intense what makes a very nice miniature orchid to grow. It was found about 1600 meters warm/shaded place under a big tree in quite dry conditions.
