Spring at the local pond.

There are many artifacts along the bottom from the sweep pano function (holding the camera is not a great way to maintain a constant nodal point!) but I think the composition is strong enough for the moment. A revisit with the better camera is needed though.

Taken with the RX100's "Rich B&W" mode (a kind of multi-exposure tool) and then refined with Nik filters. I have also added noise to the sky to reduce banding-artefacts created in post.

Much better on a black background.

I came across a video today describing how to use a 32-bit/channel workflow to avoid the nasty halos that plague so much HDR work and I thought I'd give it a go.

This shot, taken with an early consumer digital camera, is no great shakes no matter what you do to it. Even worse the versions out of Photomatix were always full of halos, even the recent versions of the program, so I though it would make the perfect test subject.

I've driven past this line of trees almost daily for 3 years and not until recently had this image formed in my mind.

4 shots at 135mm. Stitched with PTgui and styled with Nik products.

The "Rich B&W" setting on the RX100, further treated with Silver Efex. Rich B&W is a kind of in-camera HDR effect based on multiple exposures.
