Brought forward.......well, it is Xmas after all, the time of good cheer, charity and generosity.............

In St Chad's churchyard, in Shrewsbury, lies a very special grave.................actually it is a film prop left over from the making of the 1984 version of 'A Christmas Carol' starring George C Scott.

It is a real tombstone, however the original wording and name had faded so they 'cannibalized' it for their filming purposes.........I don't suppose the original occupant minded!

Amazingly, I've found a YouTube clip of the graveyard scene from the film, click to watch : www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4XPIy2yPvI As you can see it looks a pretty spooky place to visit at night............

The church itself is also quite interesting, it was bulit in 1792 and is unusual in that it is the largest of one of four completely circular churches in the UK, built without internal corners, as apparently............dark corners are where the demons and devil spirits hide!

Charles Darwin was also baptised here in 1809.

Vic 32, Vital Spark, the Clyde Puffer used to recreate the tales of Para Handy and his travels around the west coast of Scotland.

This boat now only one of three or four Clyde Puffers left.

Seen here in the Crinan Canal basin.

Ah, I love Scotland, especially the highlands and islands around it's west coast. This area is considered to be the finest sail cruising ground in Western Europe.......and in my humble opinion, it's true.........OK, the weather can be a little challenging at times, as can the tides and races; but when the sun doth shine it's magic and makes it all worthwhile.

Taken a few years ago (when I wasn't a Flickr member), as we approached the mountainous island of Rhum in the Hebridian Sea.

Isalei, a Hallberg Rassy, sits ready in slings for her launch back into the water after having her bottom pressure washed and then anti-fouled.

A few yards from Pont Pen-y-Benglog, a bridge over a gorge nestling between the brooding Carneddau Mountains and the imposing Glydder Mountains, are the impressive waterfalls taking the overflows of Lake Ogwen down to the coast.

This picture was taken at the top section before the waters plunge a 100m or more to the valley floor.

There I was walking through a run-down area of Caernarfon with my camera and tripod (as one does) when these two gentlemen asked me what I was doing.........so I asked them if they wanted to be included in the photograph!

They readily agreed and they did quite a good job of not moving and looking nonchalant for the 8 seconds or so the exposure took.......so, thank you unknown gentlemen of the night, you made my evening........
