The Friends of Pittville (www.friendsofpittville.org/) have worked tirelessly to raise funds for the restoration of the Pittville Gates. This week the restored ironwork came back looking very handsome to be installed on the beautiful new stonework.
There is still a gap in funding to finish the project!

It was snowing as I walked through Cheltenham's Pittville Park this morning.
Under the protection of her red umbrella this young lady was drinking a cup of take-away coffee from the Central Cross Café and watching the flakes drift down.

Before the Santa's Fun Run in Pittville Park, Cheltenham, these would-be Santa Clauses warmed up Gangnam Style!

Cheltenham Sunrise Rotary Club organised this event, raising funds for Cancer Research UK and Bristol-based charity - Hop, Skip and Jump.

This was the 'far end' of the course, near the Central Cross Café in Pittville Park, Cheltenham.
As well as the 'fun runners' in costume there were 'serious' runners for this 3km walk/jog/run like the guy on the left. Mind you, the little blond, number 35, on the right is coming round the outside trying to overtake them all!

The group of young mums who get together in Pittville Park with their babes in buggies to get themselves fit. This is some of the Buggyfit group jogging across the community bridge over the lower lake.

While I was taking this pic a little girl said "Look Grandma, the ice cream factory is closed!"

We were very fortunate to have HM herself to present the prizes for the fancy dress competition. This was the age 5 and under finalists, all were great.

At the start of an Egg & Spoon race. Sharp-eyed observers will see that rule 32b of the E&S competition manual allows the use of potatoes instead of eggs during a recession!

This is the parents' obstacle race, very competitive!
A small part of the original but it tells the story without giving away that the ladies beat the boys!

During the Friends of Pittville(www.friendsofpittville.org/) Picnic in the Park there was a competition for children to interpret how they saw Pittville Gates. It was a very popular activity with some impressive results. These four artists are making their impressions of the Gates.
