Decomposing Squirrel

Reznicek111 posted a photo:

A squirrel in a strange state of decay, along Williston Road, Burlington Vermont. Labor Day 2006. What's odd is that despite its beng exposed to the elements beside a busy roadway (that leads to BTV airport) no birds or animals seemed to have chewed away at the squirrel's flesh. The remains are infested with maggots, and the fur (but not the skin) has sloughed off.
