Sunset from the moving ferry

The picture was taken from a ferry on the way to Ft. Morgan Gulf Shore. It was a beautiful sunset glowing all over the sea and illuminated sky. I just clicked the shutter few times. And there it is....

Bulky Bee

Busy pollen bees are not easy to capture. They are always moving by the fraction of seconds. I wanted to photograph hand help macro. I found this chunky one hovering on flowers with pollen stuck on his leg. I have waited and waited..then finally the bee stopped for few seconds from taking off. After several attempts, I have finally shot one right. Tripod is pretty useful when it comes to macro. Sometimes free hand shooting makes less burden carrying one less gear when you are outdoor.

This is one of 3 shots that was taken when I first got my Nikon 105mm f2.8G VR lens to test the sharpness. Turned out pretty good. It was a good feeling to see the result. Chrome - yes I like the smell. :-)

Young Dragonfly

Found this little dragonfly at the park. This young one was hovering at the speed of light. After about 20minutes walking like a zombie, finally I was able to get close up to take this shot.

The Green Devil Is Smiling

I was cleaning up my computer today & came across this picture that I took few years ago at the New Orleans Zoo. The light was perfect. I remember taking my time when I took the shot. They are Black Skimmers. Really cool birds, their lower beak is longer than the top one. They fly right above the water and dip the lower beak in and scoop up fish.

P.S.: I took this shot using a Canon T3 with 75-300mm lens. I borrowed this Canon from my friend while we were out to capture things. This is the first time I have used Canon. :-)

The Black Skimmers

They are Black Skimmers. Really cool birds, their lower beak is longer than the top one. They fly right above the water and dip the lower beak in and scoop up fish. From far away they appear they don't have any eyes. They tend to rest almost exactly the same distance from each other. If one of them joins them along with resting ones, she/he adjust the distance in a very organized way. Very disciplined.

P.S.: I took this shot using a Canon T3 with 75-300mm lens. I borrowed this Canon from my friend while we were out to capture things. This is the first time I have used Canon. :-)
