I don't count my short stint last year at Mono Lake. We stayed in Mammoth Lakes. I woke up at 5 AM to make the short 12 mile drive to Convict Lake. I have seen some wonderful images of this location on Flickr, and was hoping I could capture one of those golden morning sunrise events, but it was not to be. The sun in the east was covered with a heavy cloud layer, and never broke through.
