Hohenschwangau, Bayern - Deutschland

One more from the old archive. This time, Schloß Hohenschwangau. Built at the shores of Alpsee lake, it's one of most famous castles in Bavaria, after Schloß Neuschwanstein.

This is a HDR/Tone Mapped image composed of 5 shots (+/- 1/2 EV bracketing) merged in Photomatix. Final adjustments were made on Photoshop.

A winter morning shot, taken at The Pond, in New York's Central Park. This is located at the SE corner of Central Park, right in front of The Plaza hotel.

Another example of HDR photography. This is a HDR image composed of 3 JPGs separated by 1/3 EV, extracted from a single RAW file. Merged and processed in Photomatix. Noise filtering and sharpening adjustments in Photoshop. Camera: Fujifilm Finepix S9600, Hoya HMC UV and Hoya HMC Circular Polarizer filters.

The Central Park is a large public, urban park that occupies over a square mile (341 hectares) in the heart of Manhattan in New York City.

Central Park - Great Lawn

A late afternoon shot of Central Park, after I went to the Metropolitan. This is the Great Lawn covered in snow, which is a large plains area (grassland, actually) with 8 baseball fields. In the past, this area of Central Park was the Croton Reservoir.

Late winter afternoon shot at Central Park. The Lake is located mostly at the western part of Central Park, between 72nd Street and 76th Street, near the Strawberry Fields. The Loeb Boathouse is on the eastern side of The Lake, between that and the Conservatory Pond.

Located between the Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries, designed by Charles Percier and Pierre Léonard Fontatine, the arch was made between 1806-1808 by the Emperor Napoleon I on the model of the Arch of Septimius Severus in Rome. It was commissioned to commemorate France's military victories in 1805. You can see the Tour Eiffel in the background.

This is an HDRI/Tone Mapped image made from a single RAW. Frames were spaced by 1/3 EV. Photomatix was used for HDR/tone mapping and detail enhancing. Photoshop was used for color adjustment, noise filtering and sharpening.

Taken with a Fujifilm Finepix S9600.

The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is located on the Banks of the Seine River, which is an UNESCO World Heritage site.

Home of FC Bayern München, this modern stadium has hosted the opening match of the 2006 World Cup. It was designed by the famous architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron.

This is a HDR image made from 3 frames (1EV spacing) extracted from a single RAW. HDR/Tone Mapping was done in Photomatix; color and sharpness adjustments were made in Photoshop.

Brühlscher Garten in Dresden | HDR

A small garden in the Altstadt, near the Frauenkirche. You can see the Sächsisches Staatskanzlei in the background.

This is an HDRI/Tone Mapped image made from a single RAW. Seven shots spaced of 1/3 EV were used (from -1 to +1) to make the HDR frame in Photomatix. The generated tone mapped image was edited in Photoshop. Two idendical layers and multiply mode were used to create the scene. A third layer was made for the sky, which had its color adjustments made separately from the rest of the image. To finish the edition, the flattened image was converted into a smart object and noise reduction and unsharp mask filters were applied.

The camera used was a Fujifilm Finepix S9600.

The Brühlscher Garten is located on the Dresden Elbe Valley, one of the UNESCO's World Heritage sites.

Another HDR/Tone Mapped image from a single RAW. This time, the famous glass pyramid located at the courtyard of the Louvre Museum, in Paris. This pyramid was designed by the architect I.M. Pei.

Taken with a Fujifilm Finepix S9600.

The Musée du Louvre is located on the Banks of the Seine River, which is an UNESCO World Heritage site.

Hohenschwangau, Bayern - Deutschland

One more HDR/Tone mapped image. This time, the most photographed building in Germany: Schloß Neuschwanstein (Castle Neuschwanstein). Comissioned by King Ludwig II in the XIX century, this is considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in the world (Neuschwanstein is commonly referred as the "fairy tale castle").

This was made from a single RAW using Photomatix. Photoshop was used for color fine-tuning, noise reduction and increase sharpness.

The Hofgarten (court garden) of Münchner Residenz and the Staatskanzlei dome in the background.

This was originally a color photo. The sepia effect was added later on Photoshop. Very light HDR processing in Photomatix was used to correct the exposure. For that purpose, I extracted 3 frames from the RAW file, separated by 1/3 EV spacing. That is the same technique I used in my most famous photo, which you can see here.

Brooklyn Bridge (revisited) | HDR

I received some (deserved) criticism about my last Brooklyn Bridge shot because I didn't correct horizon tilt and perspective distortion. So, for those who didn't like the previous photo, I took another one.

This time I got the Brooklyn Bridge from a wider angle, but still at the same location (Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park). Just moved a bit closer to the Manhattan Bridge. I personally like this one more, since it features a better view of south Manhattan skyline.

This is a HDR/Tone Mapped image, resulted from 5 merged RAW shots (+/- 1/2 EV bracketing) in Photomatix. The resulted image was merged again with the 5 original shots in Photoshop (each one consisting of one masked layer for fine adjustments). Some adjustments were done using Curves and Hue/Saturation adjustment layers in LAB Color mode. Used Noiseware for noise reduction and then Smart Sharpen filter for more sharpness.

One more from the old archive. This is a spring sunset at La Concorde HDR/Tone Mapped image from a single RAW. I used +/- 2EV bracketing in Camera RAW and Photomatix for the merge. Then adjusted tones, contrast, noise and sharpness in Photoshop.

I thought a shot of La Concorde without the Obelisk would be less cliché. :-)
