Gabbro (Bakers) Falls is on the Black River near Blackjack Ski resort in Gogebic County, the westernmost county Michigan. This waterfall has no fences or barriers of any kind. It consists of three separate drops into a narrow crevice between two large rock formations.

Kitch-iti-kipi is Michigan's largest natural freshwater spring or as we call it The Big Spring. The light green in the reflection is really the bottom of the pool. If you look closely you can see some the Trout swimming in the water. 10/1/12

On US 2 between Iron River and Watersmeet Michigan 5 eagles were perched about 20 yards off the road. One appeared to be a yearling. It and another were obscured by the trees.

Plymouth Mine

The Plymouth mine began operations about 1913 in Wakefield, Michigan. The mine was the only open pit mine within the Gogebic range. When operations ended in 1952 it was 7600 feet long, 900 feet wide and 360 feet deep and had shipped out almost 17 million tons of iron ore. Since then the pit has flooded with ground water and now continas 325 feet of water.
