Another view of this nice line of poplars. The lone maple is amusing and almost looks like the chubby dwarf among the tall slender companions.

A beautiful native Hawaiian Hibiscus, pua aloalo - kokiʻo keʻokeʻo ("kokiʻo that is white like the shine of silver"), growing in Oahu's Waimea Valley. This one is nearly perfect, the blooms last less than a day from opening to wilting. A poignant reminder of the fleeting nature of life and beauty.

Another from the pink clover series from July, in this one golden light is illuminating a tall stem of Queen Anne's lace standing tall in the clover.

A small line of Oregon white oak trees almost appears to be cradling the orb of the sun as it sets beyond this field of pink clover blossoms.

Brightly colored lichen on the rouch volcanic rock at the Pali overlook above Kailua on Oahu. this rockface is part of the slide-scarp of the Nu'uanu range landslide where a killometers long side of the mountains broke apart and slid into the Pacific in ancient times. Slide debris extends underwater at least a hundred miles.

From this perspective the closer lone oak seems to be reaching over to touch the small copse of maple and ash trees.

Oak of the Golden Dreams

Sunrise light warming the thin layer of ground fog around this lone oak.

This area is slated to soon be developed into the planned community of "South Hillsboro" as it was one of the last large open tracts of land between Hillsboro and Beaverton. Hopefully these beautiful mature oaks will be planned around and left intact. Either way these open pastures will soon be just a memory.

This was an interesting find; while shooting lavender blossoms I discovered this lone white stalk of lavender blossoms on an otherwise normal purple bush.

A beautiful anomaly.
