Eerie lights that emerge in fog. The front of the building and water is 'painted' with one standard torch/flashlight from the right. The backlighting comes from another house as well as some outside lights, the fog just acted as an amazing natural diffuser. Don't think it could be replicated with anything man made.

A brick wall in a backstreet in Katajanokka, Helsinki, Finland. I like the way the light was falling on this window and the way it was 'framed' by some steel pipes.

During this same evening 19500 lightning strikes were counted in Finland making it a new record for this year.

A church in Zug, Switzerland. Trying the fisheye that I rented for the weekend. Unfortunately, the weather was so poor that it was not possible to do more daylight shots so the nightime will have to do for now.

Bubble Surfing

I watched and wondered where these relatively big bubbles kept coming from and surfing on the waves in the lake before I realised that this was a pretty decent photo op. Having just borrowed a 70-300 mm all kinds of new options became available. I have become way too used wide angle lenses.

These mini waves were bathed in golden sunset light and with a slight touch of long exposure they transformed into liquid black gold. The swirly spots in the foreground are little bubbles, see next shot.

Reflections from the houses on the opposite side of the Katajanokka Harbour. I also like the contrast between modern citylights and the old ships that sit at the docks.
