Cozy Couple

This was a fun couple that my bf and I shot together a couple of weeks ago. When they first contacted us about doing a shoot in their apartment complex we were a little unsure about the idea. But the day of the shoot and when we got to the complex we realized the place actually had some nice spots around.

While typically we aren't fond of the idea of shooting in a complex, I guess are minds were changed. I think if you are in a nice enough complex it can make a big difference. I know some real urban/loft places that would actually look real nice in photos.

But anywho. This is a shot I got of them in the lounge area near the pool. They had some colorful juice and a cozy sofa and we worked with it. Well if I must say :) Nothing like natural smiles to really bring out a nice shot!

Husky Valentines <3

These are our 2 Siberian Huskies: Kodak- the boy and Sigma- the girl. We think they are the best dogs in the world. We spoil them for that reason. They let us dress them up without a problem. They always make us laugh and smile. And they give us unconditional love. What better dogs can you have? Never want to lose my babies <3

I thought this would be a fun photo to do for Valentines Day :) My bf helped me keep them in place and put the outfits on. Trying to get huskies to stay can be hard lol. Especially when the cheesy treats are involved.

Zack: Backyard Portrait

This here is a picture I actually took around Christmas time up at my Aunt's house. This is her goofy and lovable German Shepherd, Zack. He is a rescue dog that is a little over a year old. Not sure about exact months haha. I took this while my bf and I were playing fetch with him in the backyard. I got him to stay put for a second while I had the ball in my hand.

I was excited to get outside and take pictures of him that day because my bf had just given me my gift from him: a 50mm f/1.4!! So I loaded it onto my 5D Mark II and started snapping away :)

Also, I think for a while now I will only be posting pictures with watermarking on them because people have been stealing pictures from my bf and I through flickr and editing them and putting their own symbol on them and we don't appreciate it. So we are both doing this now. My flickr account is set to where you can NOT save them for a reason. I know majority of everyone here takes pictures and knows exactly what I am talking about. But there are people that just get on flickr to find pictures for something on their own website without consent.

The thing I love about this picture is her pose. The way she is standing says that she is in charge and I think that she absolutely owns this shot. She is a model that my bf and I were shooting together and she was definitely fun to work with. Looking forward to shooting her again.

Zoo Day- Cheetah

Basenji!

The Basenji has always been a favorite breed of mine, so when I saw it at the park today after a photoshoot with a client I just HAD to get a picture of it!! They are just such bold looking, gorgeously colored dogs and I used to want one a long time ago long before my siberian huskies came along.

Many of you dont know, but my other passion is animals. (Dogs in particular). I love watching dog shows and learning about breeds, nutrition, grooming etc. Just bringing out the best in every breed.
Which I suppose makes my job at PetSmart nice :) I am also trying to apply for vet tech school. I will get there eventually :)

But for now I am loving photography and the sessions my bf and I shoot together for our clients. These shots were just quickies I took cause it was the first time seeing the breed in person, but I still thought they were cute :)

Bf got me my new 50mm f/1.4 for Christmas. Definitely liking it so far!

Basenji and Friend

Sigma: My Holiday Husky

Do not be fooled by the name of this photo. Sigma is her name. My bf and I also have another husky named Kodak. We decided since we both love photography that we would name them to fit that. Haha.

Anywho...I took this photo about 2 weeks ago and forgot to upload it. It was super hard trying to get her to stay put LOL. Especially since the other dog wanted to play. The dog park was right behind us. (We went in afterwards) I was lucky enough to get this one holiday shot of her with the lights and her little Santa dress and little bow near her ear :)

Also, I would like to thank my bf for helping me by handling her and getting her positioned for me while I shoot haha

This is a shot I got while my bf and I were shooting pics for my friend Eunice's 15. This is one of my favorite pictures because the sun came creeping through JUST RIGHT. And the camera still has her popping out. Idk..im just in love with the sun and this pic. One of my favorite portraits.

I am also definetely noticing the difference in quality in my portraits especially since I have gotten my new equipment. Things are going great.

This is a picture I took of my friend Eunice while my bf and I were shooting for her. We thought it would be fun to get some shots in the middle of the street while we could. And boy am I glad that we did.

I thought she looked super pretty in her dress! So glad my new Canon 5D Mark II made her really..POP in this picture. I love it.

I love this shot :) lol This is a shot I took of my friend Mikhail. When I started to take this shot it was slightly sprinkling and I had to hurry. My bf helped me a lot by moving the light around when I needed him to while I hurried to take the shot. This was such a fun shoot to do. We were laughing at random stuff and having fun playing with the lighting :)

I dont know what it is, but I just really liked this head shot of my friend Mikhail that I took. The 2 things that stick out the most to me are the colors and the light in his eyes here. Very fun shoot where he also did some hip hop dancing and took some shots with our alien bee (see other photo) :)

This is a picture I took of my friend Mikhail in a shoot my bf and I did downtown. The thing I like about this shot is the lighting. It was when the sun was going down so the sun is still slightly hitting the wall without being really harsh. This was a very fun shoot :)

Felt lucky to get this shot seeing as how moments later the park picked up this big pile of pinecones and sticks. I would say about 5 minutes after haha. Thought it came out decently :)

Again, she was a model my bf and I were shooting. She was very fun to work with so you will probably see more pics of her when we get the chance to work with her again!

Leaf Portrait Concept- Maggie

This is an idea that I have been wanting to do all fall/winter. I just needed the right person for it. And Maggie was already doing super well on her shoot so I asked her to try it out. Love how it came out :)

Maggie is a model that my bf and I were shooting the other day. She really knew how to pose just right for the camera and really draw you into her eyes in a shot. Great model to work with and will work with her again for sure!

Couple at the Park

This was a couple that my bf and I were shooting a couple of weekends ago. The shoot was actually about how they have another baby on the way. )They have another kid). While that kid was on the side for a bit I was able to get just a few couple shots. While the focus of this photo is mostly on the girl, I still like the winter feel and colors :) They were a nice couple and the guy was actually wanting to be there. A lot of the guys it seems are forced by their girls to take pics but he seemed happy to be there and it was his idea to do the shoot :)
