As many times as I've been here and shot here, I don't think I've seen it flowing at this level surrounded by so much green. It was like a jungle in here over the weekend.

Pam's Grotto

It's really nice when perfect waterfall shooting conditions coincide with the weekend. Saturday we had heavy skies and solid overcast, rain, and even snow (in May). I managed to make it into Pam's Grotto up near Haw Creek and the Big Piney. This whole area is really beautiful. Those boulders under the overhang in this shot are massive. And it's not too difficult to see where they fell from.

Natural Dam

We have some good friends from Louisiana camping at Devil's Den for the week, so we met up with them this weekend and checked out Natural Dam.

Afterwards we had lunch at the little restaurant/store/diner on highway 59 nearby. The burgers were pretty good.

This is totally Dan Love-inspired/ripped off. Dan's shots are better because he crouches in busy NYC intersections. I am going to work my way up from the 2 miles an hour (so everybody sees you) traffic of the Fort Worth Stock Yards to perhaps a downtown Little Rock intersection and see how that goes.

Last weekend Krishelle and I played host/tour guide to a good friend and coworker who lives in the Twin Cities who was down for the Little Rock Marathon. We spent the weekend giving him a tour of the town, making sure he was sufficiently carbo-loaded the night before the race, and the day before the race I managed to take him to Petit Jean to shoot Cedar Falls. When we left there we came back to Little Rock from Conway through New Dixie and took a few snaps of St. Boniface.

This was one of the workers at the Little Rock Marathon showing runners where to turn so they don't end up off course or in the river somewhere.

I have a friend/coworker who came dowm from Minneapolis to run the half. See below and note the finish medal! The finish medals for the full are even bigger!

This is good friend and coworker Scott Bunner shooting Cedar Falls at Petit Jean State Park. Scott travelled from the Twin Cities to Little Rock to run the half marathon this weekend. He thinks the hike to the falls was nice preparation for the run.
