It's been far too long, getting out of this country, for a great/big trip... My last big trip was unplanned/unexpected to Panama summer 2011 (thanks to my daughter who was in her second year studying there for her Graduate Degree)... Years ago I had planned a trip to Florence Italy but my budget needed to be rerouted at the last minute and so that trip was canceled. :( This was a big move to Texas so no extra "play" funds now... Someday... Still wishing for Florence... My ultimate trip would be Japan, perhaps, someday... ;)

One of my wonderful (French) flickr contacts sent me a gracious/artistic offer to take pictures of my body parts and he would arrange them artistically. Wonderful! But then I thought, how much more interesting if I had my beau take the pictures? Then there would be three of us endeavoring on this behalf. The idea was approved. Roland took my pictures in my room. Next to me was the crazy old mirror that I bought at an antique flea market up in Wisconsin. The mirror glass is all worn and wonderfully murky. I looked over and saw my distorted image in the beautiful mirror and made a mental note to try to shoot some self portraits in it... :)

I had long since gathered bits and pieces to create this unnamed Halloween costume but many factors were pulling my energy level away from me and I was not going to dress up to go shoot pictures on Sixth Street... But after my boss had her face painted (picture before this one in my stream) I was inspired to dress up too!!! (I love costumes!*) I sprayed my hair with purple and glitter but couldn't reach to the back. I stepped outside my apartment and the little girl upstairs (with her Dad;s permission) decorated my hair in the back then I sprayed her hair too! Fun! I saw so many people smile when they saw my costume it certainly was worth it! And there should be a number of pictures out there of me as people wanted a shot with me!!!! LOL!!! Sweet...

So ironic, I had been email friends with a gentleman on OKCupid because we were both seeing someone else we had met on a dating site. But then suddenly one weekend we were both available and voila! We have been seeing each other, ever, since! I don't need a dating site anymore... ;P

A really rough day at work yesterday. Accidents on our roadways. What up?!!!! Bad air yesterday...

But at the last minute, an unexpected concert, was a total BLAST!!!!!

While waiting for my friend to grab a late night snack from an outside food cart we were told if we had a paper bracelet from the event (which we did) we could go to the after hours party with Ada Ant! Come on!! My date said that's how it rolls in Austin!!!!

No, we didn't go... (I haven't had near enough sleep to function at work today!!!!!) ;p

I just found out from my upstairs neighbor who went to the after party that Adam Ant did not go to the party but his band did.

NY meets Texas!

Who would have ever thought I would have fallen this much in love with Texas?! There's kind of a rivalry between these two states, not that I ever felt that way... But remember that hot sauce TV ad: "made in NYC"?! It's like we are opposites are something. But now that I live in Austin that is just not the case. New Yorkers and Texans have a major character in common and it's that deep, well connected, no BS personalities! We are both up front and proud, deeply honest and we don't put up with any nonsense! I am so lucky and so happy to be here! (I miss Florida beaches and Illinois/Wisconsin seasons, though...) Austin grows deep in you from the start!!!!
