Overlooking the frozen bay of Härnösand, a typical postcard picture.

I'm slightly wondering if I should have added more sharpen to the image. I tried back and forth and there simply wasn't any result that I was content with.

we got a new door to the laundry room in the basement. Looks great - only the lock hasn't been correctly assembled so once shut, the door can't be opened from the inside. I realised this while making a laundry booking at 2:40 AM, and had to crawl out that tiny window.

...that this is actually the sun? This day the fog from the ocean was so heavy that it obscured the sun well enough that I dared taking a picture of it. I fiddled around with changing the exposure and removing digital noise, which just created banding instead. In the end, I just converted it from RAW. No cropping, sharping or anything.

There's currently an uncontrolled forest fire near this town, spreading fast. Right now it seems to be feasting on the power lines, so I wouldn't be too surprised if there's a power outage soon.

Oh yes baby! Out of the cast -even if I did it on my own with scissors and pliars. See the doc said 6 weeks and it's been over six weeks and they haven't called me yet, couldn't reach them on the phone either today. It's been warm here and the cast was wet and sticky and smelled of old socks. No WAY that could be good for healing. Tomorrow I'm getting a good bandage to sturdy it up until the doc can look at it and remove the metal pin.

At least, I THINK they will. Not very smart to inform a patient when he's just woken up after surgery.

It's not as bad as it looks, the general redness on the palm is from hours on the mousemat :).

No pic of the back of the hand now, it was hard enough with the 50mm lens to get far enough from the hand to get focus (used a bathroom mirror) AND hold the camera upside down with the left hand. I'll ask someone tomorrow.

This is sort of how a depression can feel. You know there's sunshine there, you can sense it but it's not quite...there, not quite tangible, more of a conceptual idea that you can grasp logically.

Oh yes, a new cast! The old one was heavy, hot and didn't fit very well. Most of the pain that kept me awake at night was caused by the cast and not the operation scars of which there are three there by the way, one below the thumb that has a metal pin stuck under the skin, one down the inside of the arm where they snipped off a bit of a tendon and a Z-shaped one across the whole back of the hand. This cast is lighter, fits better and doesn't become as warm, but it's very tight and hard. Still, the nurses were surprised to see how well the swelling had gone down and how well it had healed ,so now they've lowered the time needed in the cast from 8-9 weeks to 6. Yay! I guess all that finger flexing, massaging, arm stretching and keeping it high really paid off. Now, I can probably go down to just aspirine and motrine. Not the best pic, but I had to hold the camera with my left hand and hold it as far away from the hand as possible to get it within focus range.

There hasn't been much in the way of photos lately, I know. I have absolutely no motivation and am currently just holding out for the summer to come, whic I hope will improve things.
