I did no work. My conference with my teacher went better than I thought, though still not stellar. But it is only week 5. 16 week placements hae 16 weeks to get good. I have to get at least decent at the end of 8 weeks to move on to my next placement. Not fair, but not much I can do. So I'm a slow learner....I will make it, I hope. I just have to jump through hoops (see above photo). But I came to the retreat and cried a lot, and didn't respect the "silence until morning" because it just would have killed me not to speak, and had a long talk with my roommate, and it was just good. Not that all my problems are solved, but it helped.

Being defensive, watch out: Please don't tell me you are SO GLAD I've turned some corner and am happy now. Sometimes i just want to smile to get people off my back about looking sad, but then I smile, and it hurts to tell people that nothing has changed, and that I am just smiling for the camera.

OK, done with that. I was just waiting in my car to go to a meeting. I got a reality check from my unversity supervisor today. There were a b illion things I forgot to do. It is so difficult to keep up with the mile long list of university requirements as well as just getting to know your students and getting involved in the classroom and talking to your teacher. It's one big mess. But I made lots of charts and ut them on my wall and hopefully that will help.

I am also going to start taking Adderall again. I think I only need it when I teach. Last time I took it, my teacher said that lesson was miles beyond the one I taught the day before. We'll see.

But it WAS good to socialize today.

I will not be on flickr much. At all. I may comment a bit when I can, I will upload probably a day late each day. But I do appreciate every single comment I get, so I hope you'll stick around. I'll pay you back someday for your commenting even when I don't comment back on your stream. I need the support now more than ever.

Still not really into it. This will be a long 100 more days.

I was thinking about teaching today. I am not enjoying things as I should. I miss my kids from the spring...so much. I didn't always love that clss, but I ended up doing just that. I found what I really liked doing. I liked the structure of having periods, and teaching content (after going on and on about doing severe I ended up liking mild), and having it be more like general ed, but I could adapt it. It sounds perfect.

But, this is my third day. I will give it a chance. And I do like the students. I need to be more proactive and take more initiative. I'v always needed to work hard on that and I do again. It's so hard, I am still, in many ways, painfully shy. It's a terrible thing for a teacher to be, but it takes me a while to get into things and step out into unfamiliar territory.

I am spoiled. But I've never gotten up even at 6, let alone before that, and I HAVE to do this and be on time. I have no idea how I'll do this.

When I teach someday, I plan on being close enough so that I don't have to have a 30-45 minute commute.

Only for 40 school days.....August 21st through October 14th.
