Hereios - Water Lovers

Rankin Lake near Gastonia, NC. Apparently there was a geocache somewhere in this vicinity but all I could find was a spider that looked poisonous, so at least I got an awesome facedown picture. There's a walkway around the lake and this is how it looks from the walkway. I set up my tripod for this and just barely made the 10 second timer. HFDT!

Today, AMF bowling centers started their summer promotions. Kids get 2 free games per day, and adults can buy a "summer pass" for $35, which also entitles them to 2 free games per day up until September. The pass basically pays for itself after 8 games since a typical game costs $3.75. So yay. =)

I've been absent for the past few days because I caught a cold last week and have been drained of energy and creativity, but I'm starting to get over it. HBM!

The ice cream shop in front of Coconut Joes at IOP is apparently now owned by Coconut Joes, and they gave it a new fancy color scheme. It used to be a plain beige color.

I earned a free hotel night with one of those hotel rewards programs, so I'm using it today. I went to Charleston to see a few things, including going back to Fort Sumter for the first time since I got into geocaching. There's a virtual cache at the fort. HBM!

Today's Random Fact:
This is the last picture where you'll see me with that hat on. It was very windy at the fort (much windier than I expected it to be) and my hat blew off and went into Charleston Harbor.

My traditional birthday trip. This year, I'm using 3 vacation days to go to Huntsville, AL. I've been all over the great state of Alabama but have never been to the Huntsville area, so why not spend 2 days there? :) Plenty of geocaching to be done as well as bowling and (duh) a Hooters I haven't been to yet.

This is the hotel I'm staying at, the Microtel on the eastern side of the city. And yes, I'm that person who immediately gets on the Wifi as soon as he gets into his hotel room. =) HFDT!

Do I need a legitimate reason to leap? I don't think so. Wish I had some sort of cowboy getup so I could have done this for the We're Here group, but I'm too lazy to go to the costume shop or Goodwill today.

Hereios - Wall Wednesday

The nearby Jack In The Box decorated their walls. It's within walking distance of the car repair shop I go to, and I needed to get a worn tire replaced, so I got today's picture after having something to eat.

And so ends the 52 weeks of 38. Next week, I turn 39. Yay. :P

Today was the first early home game for the Greenville Drive. It was a 2pm game against the Lakewood Blueclaws. They have another 2pm game next month, and then an 11am game in both June and July.

I took this picture last Tuesday. Remember when I went to Richard Russell state park in Georgia? Well, there was a geocache hidden in the back of a disc golf course. While walking to it, of course I took notice of the benches there and made note to do a Bench Monday picture for this week. HBM!

No, I didn't change my name. That lake is Richard B Russell Lake along the Georgia-SC border, and this was taken at the state park on the GA side named after it. HFDT!
