I'm not getting around as much as I used to, but with the advent of spring and warmer weather I'm hopeful of at least doing a little more shooting.

I met this fellow, Gord, on a very bright and sunny day. It was cold, but one hardly noticed as it was too rare to have sunshine. Gord's scowl isn't for real… he was just nervous at first and started smiling for the rest of the shots I made of him—I like the scowl better, hee hee.

The friendly face of an intelligent man met one fine day on the banks of the Napanee River.

I haven't been totally wasting my time this winter. Slowly, very, very slowly I've been working on my own website which is unabashedly commercial in nature and therefore, not to contravene the rules and spirit of Flickr, I will not mention the URL here, well not exactly, but it's very much like johnherzogphotography.com. Oh what a bear it is to work on and is it ever boring to upload and categorize the image files…the sort of donkey work I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. There are hundreds and hundreds of files yet to be done and I take any excuse at all to abandon the work. Moon gets more little walks than he even wants, hee hee.

Been fooling around with a mat cutter too. Now there's a deceptive device straight from the devil himself. All the poop one can 'learn' about these things on YouTube make the unwary think that it's easy as 1-2-3…NOT SO! If anyone offers to sell you one of these hideous contraptions and if it isn't totally automated then RUN, RUN, Run. Working these things is not at all unlike trying to reason with a three-year old.

Health here is holding well enough with just a little bit of heart surgery on the books for next month. Yummy, yummy, but I do like the food at Kingston General Hospital and the student nurses there are an especially rare treat for this old curmudgeon.

If Napanee were to have a traditional black smith's shop this joint would be it. Except it's electric and gas welding these days. It's a facinating place, but unfortunatly they don't encourage lay-abouts just hanging round. Oh well.

On this side of the fence Moon sees to it that no squirrel is allowed on the ground. He trees 'em all with verve and joy.
