Another one of my favorites from this trip. Taken right outside of Yodobashi Camera. For those that don't know, you see a lot of men in Japan carrying purses, and they do this to be a gentleman so that the woman they are with doesn't have to carry it.

Another boudoir shot. Lit by window light and shot through some weird multicolour material to give the interesting flare effect and colors. Pretty much SOOC.

Film is far from dead! Right now I have a massive junior high crush on shooting film, developing it and scanning it all myself. It's a sort of therapeutic process almost.

Here's a shot I took last night from a client session, and wanted to post it and share a little bit about how I took it.

First off, it was a very drab and foggy day. The light was very flat and neutral, and wasn't as warm as I had wanted. Sure I could have just changed my white balance and warmed everything up, but then I would have warmed up her face and skin tone way too much for my liking.

So instead I used an off camera flash and changed the white balance settings of my camera. I used a Nikon SB-900 with a 1/2 CTB (color temperature blue) gel on it fired into a 48" Lastolite circular diffuser.

With the white balance of my camera set to 6500K (Daylight) the light on her face would have been blue and the background neutral. So I increased the WB of my camera to around 8000K which made light on her face appear white and really warmed up the rest of the photo.

It is a pretty easy trick but something you might not always think about doing.

Here's my cat Atticus. I was taking some test shots with my new 50mm f/1.4 and he happened to be in bath mode. This ended up giving some pretty funny shots, so I put a few of them together for today's photo.
