Taken on film in 2007 as I descended from 16,200' on Denali to our tent at 14,000'. Mt. Hunter at 14,570' can be seen as the pointed peak behind the Kahiltna Peaks. Believe it or not there are people located on the edge of the cliff overlooking the NE fork of the Kahiltna Glacier. They are against the face of the highlighted square on the photo....not on the ridge.

Although Island Peak ....aka Imja Tse..... is a meer foothill in the Himalaya, many climbers are attracted to this peak annually. Here my wife is about to summit the 20,305' "hill". Ama Dablam is the high one on the horizon.

Actually the sun is breaking through over Nuptse as Everest is the second highest peak in the photo to the left. Taken from the summit of Kala Patthar 5550m.

Nuptse and Everest

Nuptse 7864m is seen late in the afternoon on our hike to Everest base camp. Closer to the left side of the frame, one can see a sliver of Mt. Everest 8848m which has an all too familiar plume coming off of its summit.
