I'm not knowledgeable about architecture at all, but trying to figure out what these concrete lovin' buildings were, I came across "brutalist architecture" and someone has classified this building has one. Maybe I have a hidden brutalist liking. Then again, I don't know if the buildings in Sofia can be considered a part of this style. Anyone with any clue?

former Communist Party Building

At the beginning of the month I went to Sofia after several years and had more or less the same feelings.

Sofia is an interesting city with huge contrasts. It hosts massive buildings -liek this one- from the socialist era, which are located in the center. However, the rest of the city is quite underdeveloped and poor as opposed to glory of these buildings....

Also learned that this building is a one of the three piece ensemble called Largo:
