My favorite photo from a day out at the orchid nursery.

Walking up and down the aisles of the nursery, this fallen plant caught my eye. I knew the beautiful organic plant against the rough metal grate would be a perfect spot of contextual contrast, I just needed the right photo. It took me a solid ten minutes to finally feel like I got "the shot", and it was certainly worth it!

Shot with a Canon EOS 60D and a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens.

A small clump of leaves in a still lake.

I shot this without any expectations, but I didn't realize how calm the water was at the time. No post processing needed to make the water seem so soft. This was one of the few good photos from a rather poor day of shooting.

Shot with a Canon Rebel XTi and a Canon EF Telephoto lens - 85 mm - F/1.8.

Concentration piece #2.

A leaf, having just fallen into the water, causing ripples.

I shot this way back before I had my Canon 60d, and I actually used a different (but similar) shot from this day for the longest time. After going back through some old photos, I found that this photo more accurately represented what I was going for. This fits into my concentration fairly well, and it is just a much better photograph overall in comparison to the old one I was using. This was taken on a cold Fall day at Hidden Lake.
