L'Albufera Natural Park, Valencia, Spain.

My last photo of the year, as it should be expected, is a sunset from L'Albufera Natural Park. Over the course of the year, I visit this place so many times, that every once in a while, my perseverance is rewarded with such a glorious sunset as the one shown in this image.

Como no podía ser de otra manera, mi última foto del año es un atardecer de L'Albufera. A lo largo del año, visito tantas veces este lugar que, de vez en cuando, mi perseverancia es recompensada con un atardecer glorioso como el mostrado en la imagen.

Un atardecer glorioso en Cala Baladrar (foto inédita tomada en Enero 2010 con mi Canon 40D que precisamente falleció en ese lugar tras un fatídico baño en agua salada).

Unpublished image taken with my old Canon 40D that precisely passed away in this same place after a fateful bath in salt water.

This image is dedicated to my Flickr friend Eric Rousset who I had the pleasure of meeting last weekend while he was spending some days in Valencia region. He is a really nice guy, apart of being an excellent photographer.

Technical information: Digital blending of 3 images since with this light conditions working with filters was impossible.
I'm aware that this image is a little overdone, but yesterday the colors were very intense.

This building is located at the 32nd America's Cup pier in Valencia. Despite the investment made in raising it, it looks that is condemned to a state of neglect. Without any doubt, the waterfront renewal process of Valencia is a complete failure, local authorities have been incapable of conducting a development that is socially and economically sustainable creating a sense of place.

Este edifico está situado en el muelle de la 32 Copa del América en Valencia. Apesar de la fuerte inversión que supuso su construcción, se puede decir sin ninguna duda que el proceso de renovación urbanística de la fachada de Valencia es un completo fracaso. Las autoridades locales han sido incapaces de crear un proceso de desarrollo sostenible social y económicamente que le dé identidad a este lugar.

When we go out for shooting sunset images we're always yearning for colors. However, as it's the case, when the colors are son bright and intense our wish becomes a problem. In this case I`ve found very difficult to manage colors to such extent that I had to desaturate the image a 15%. Believe me or not, this evening the sky was a fiery array of red-oranges tones.

Cuando sales para fotografiar atardeceres, siempre estás anhelando los colores rojos y naranjas. Sin embargo, en este caso, cuando los colores son tan brillantes e intensos, tu anhelo se convierte en un problema. Revelar esta RAW ha sido un suplicio, hasta el punto que he desaturado la imagen un 15%. Me creáis o no, esa tarde el cielo estaba encendido con unos rojos y naranjas increíbles.

As every Autumn, the rice fields are again flooded rewarding us with such a nice reflections. At the background you can see a partial view of the Valencia's skyline. Hope you like it.

When taking this image, I had the pleasure of meeting some Flickr friends from Alicante: Natalia Martinez, Vicenta Llorens, Lidia and Valero-Xixona. Carlos Albelda, Tino Rovira, Pepe Lahuerta and Salva Moya also joined this group of photographers, so as you can imaging there wasn't hardly room for so many people with their corresponding tripods extended. In any case, we had a lot of fun.

Cuando tomé esta fotografía tuve el placer de conocer a un grupo de amigos de Alicante: Natalia Martínez, Vicenta Llorens, Lidia y Valero-Xixona. Carlos albelda, Tino Rovira y Salva Moya, fueron los anfitriones de este grupo. Pepe Lahuerta, como es habitual, también estaba por ahí. Por ello, os podéis imaginar que apenas había sitio para tanto fotógrafo y trípode en un lugar tan pequeño. en cualquier caso lo pasamos bomba.

Despite pollution problems and other controversial issues, sometimes industrial areas have their own beauty being an intrinsic part of our peripheral urban areas.

Unpublished image taken in April 2009.

A pesar de la contaminación y otros asuntos polémicos, aveces las zonas industriales tienen su propia belleza siendo parte intrínseca de nuestros entornos periurbanos.

Unpublished image taken in April 2009 and very similar to one already posted. However, in this case I've used Lightroom 4.0 and I honestly believe that the treatment is now better.

Imagen inédita tomada en Abril de 2009 y muy similar a una subida con anterioridad. En este caso he usado Lightroom 4.0 y creo que el procesado es mejor.
