Well, today is my second anniversary in Flickr so for me it’s a very special day, I’m really happy. Apart of the considerable number of visits that I’ve received (72,500), the most important thing is the friends that I’ve met along this journey and all the people that I’ll be able to meet in the future. So, let me to dedicate this classic view of the City of Arts and Sciences to you all my dear friends from every corner of the globe: from the East to the West and from the North to the South. I’m in debt with you all, God bless you.

The day that the sky crashed down at the City of Arts and Sciences (second version)

Photo taken 20 minutes later than the previous one so the sky colors are different, specially the red tones between the two buildings. True colors, I mean no added colors with PS between the buildings. In this one the intention was to give more prominence to the sky.

Still trying to catch up all your photo streams. I've just finished to reciprocate the comments of the previous photo, so I'm a little tired.

It was about to rain, the sky that I had eagerly awaited for a long time was opposite to me, so it was the right moment. It seemed as if the sky was to collapse on me. It was a glorious moment when I started to shoot under this unique sky. Suddenly night fell but I had got what I was yearned to: a dramatic sky in a city where rarely you can see these kind of skies.
Although, I'm aware that this photo is a little overdone, I can't avoid to love this dramatic sky presided by this huge cloud.

Shooting a commercial about the new BMW 1 series convertible

This last Christmas when I was shooting some photos at the City of Arts & Sciences, I could see how a commercial about the new BMW 1 series convertible was filmed. The red car -a 3 series BMW- had on the hood a huge camera and a microphone. The City of Arts and Sciences, as a consequence of its modern design, has been chosen several times for shooting commercials of cars and motorcycles.

It isn't a good photo, I only want to share it for curiosity.

Technical info: one single file post processed with Adobe Lightroom.

Valencia's Opera House (North side)

Palau de les Arts, Valencia (Spain).
Technical note: Digital blending of two HDR images, one darker and the other one lighter.
This image is the second one uploaded and shot with the Canon EFS 10-22mm. It looks sharper than the previous one given that I shot with a higher aperture, f14 instead f22, so maybe the lenses is not faulty as I thought, ... sure it is my lack of experience with this lenses. Thanks a lot for your pieces of advise and also thanks for your visits and comments!

City of Arts and Sciences at dawn

My first photo with my new EOS 40D and with the Canon EFS 10-22 mm. However, I'm a bit disappointed with the performance of this lenses. Maybe is my fault or lack of experience, but I think that the photos obtained are a bit soft, as if they were out of focus, and also the distortion in the extremes of the photo is very noticeable. In this photo I had to apply the unsharp mask considerably in order to get a decent result. Is this performance usual with this kind of lenses or maybe it's me that I'm a completely useless photographer? Please, could anyone help me? Technical note: when shooting HDR photos I used the Auto Bracketing function and the self timer for shooting, is that OK or maybe this is precisely the reason why I find the photos not very crisp?

Problem solved and lesson learned: in digital photography making comments with such a rush always leads you to wrong conclusions, ... the lenses works perfectly!

The Valencia's Opera House at dawn

Despite I'm suffering a 'photographic drought', last Friday I decided to get up early and shoot some photos of the Opera House. With the Olympus, it's more difficult to shoot HDR photos than with other cameras given that the Auto Bracketing doesn't work under 1/30 speeds, so I had to do it manually. Thanks for your visits and comments!
