I love the two biggest southamerican felines, The Puma, and The Jaguar.
There are several other species which are beautiful and impressive too but these two are simply majestic.

During the last time i have prefered the natural look on my photos, and i have only used Nik color efex to enhance them. Sadly this software created a problem in my computer so this time i used lightroom and photomatix for this image.

Uff it´s been long... but i like the results.

I have missed you flickr friends.

After a week of nightmare, today i have the time to finally post on flickr. =)
Although i have a day of dutty.
First time i get to know what the stress is... my way to battle it, a short break in the beach with my dogs, where i got to see this colorful sunset. =)

Altiplano Chileno

Chilean altiplano (high flat land or plain)

I took this one while returning to Chile from Bolivia (on a moving bus)
You can see all these colors all over the first 4 chilean regions ( from north to south). These high plains are formed between the andes and it´s a common territory shared by the west area of bolivia, southern peru, northern argentina and northen Chile.

I wanted to take advantage on this image to let you know my opinion about certain things. This is related to several things or attitudes that i´ve seen in some people here in flickr.

Some people is so interested on getting comments, faves on their photos, which is something i totally understand., It´s great getting the recognition for your work, specially when you love what you have done. I´m aware that photography is passion for many of us, so there are very nice feelings related to this activity whether you do it professionally or not.

So far the FLICKR EXPERIENCE has been great for me. I´ve met people from all over the world and i´ve had the chance to show the world my country, the places that i love, and the things that i like, including this everything in relation to photography has been great.

Photography for me is a creative process, is a memory of a good moment or a place that i love or an experience that i want to share with you. These things are related with very honest and deep feelings that i want to convey, that is why much recognition, comments, awards or fave stars are not much necessary. With this said i want to tell that i don´t work in that line. i mean, I know that for many of you getting the most amount of views, stars, awards and visit is super necessary and probably the reason why you take photos. On the other hand it is not what i seek in photography and flickr.

As the honest person i think i am, i will continue in this same line and I WON´T FEEL MYSELF UNDER ANY PREASSURE to fake my reaction everytime i see other people images. This means that i will always be honest and give you my real opinion about your work; This doesn´t mean i´m gonna be rude. but for example:

1.- I will never fake my opinion giving a fave to something that doesn´t cause that reaction in me.

2.- If i don´t comment to your photos everyday it doesn´t mean i don´t like your work, it means that i´m probably bussy, tired, studying or away for any other personal reason.

3.- I will always try to reciprocate not only because you visited my stream but also because flickr is social experience, and i interact with you everyday, just as i do it with my family and friends. I have interacted with some of you for a long time, so you already have a little place in my heart and mind, so it will be a friendship and goodwill gesture.

4.- Please, do not expect the same reaction that you had when you visited and commented any of my images, i think that´s not being honest. I will surely visit your stream whenever i have the time but my words will be product of the real quality of your images or your skills as a photographer. and not only that; i will probably react on a positive attitude because you have shown something that moves me in some way or that you posted something that is important for you, i will absolutely be happy for that. =)

5.- Taking the last point, if you don´t have much experience i will always try to give you any support or any advice (if i had the chance and experience to do it).

6.- Please, don´t try to make me feel i have the obligation to comment back, cause i believe that if you comment on my work it´s because you like it , so i won´t feel any preassure whenever you say that you will erase me of your contact list just because of this. I think an image deserves to be visited and commented when it has all the necessary qualities and beauty (sometimes an inner beauty).

7.- Photography is in many oportunities PURE ART, and art always seeks to express the artist emotions and state of mind and also cause reactions in the viewers. I think that is such a beautiful process that doesn´t have to be damaged but such cheap attitude like: " YOU HAVE TO SEE, COMMENT AND FAVE MY PHOTO BECAUSE I DID THE SAME WITH YOURS" Let´s make art to convey everything that is meant to convey, instead of turn it into a bunch of childish attitudes of immature emmotional dependance. Please don´t fake your hearts and souls.

8.- If i add a contact is because i like his/her work and not because i need comments. I have many contacts that don´t visit my stream, however i comment on their photos because they are a great source of inspiration for me.

9.- I add contacts not only because of photos but also because there´s empathy and i see this like a great opportunity to make a new friend, which is one of the things that makes happy about flickr.

To finish with these words, i will always expect your honesty and goodwill. It is very important for me to create a good friendship through photography and not an uptight relationship based on the visits that i do to your streams or your visit to mine as i understand you also have a life to take care of , away from flickr and photos.
Also i want to tell you that since already two months my time is not much because i´m pursuin my dream to become a geologist being a full time student and worker. Actually it´s been a couple of days that i´ve spent more than 24 hours awake, working and stuying so my presence on flickr won´t be like in the past: an everyday visit or an everyday post. so i hope you can understand my new situation.

If i always had the chance of travelling on a bus, believe me i would always do it. Love seeing the landscape changing in front of my eyes and also having the chance to snap some photos. This way ,or driving and biking are the best way to know your destinations i think.

El titulo viene de un anime muy conocido.

Hoy saque mi Zoom al patio he hice mis primeras tomas de la luna, y bueno, no me quise quedar solo con la fotografía y fui un poquito más allá.

Los títulos en español, porque el español es una lengua romance, mas rica. que normalmente evoca el romanticismo, tal como lo evoca la luna. También se dice que influencia la vida en la tierra en nuestros aspectos instintivos y emocionales.

The Silver Millenium Kingdom.
The title is from an anime serie i like.

Tonight i took my zoom out to the yard and did my first shots of the moon and so... i didn´t want to post the shot only but i went a little further.

The titles are in Spanish as it´s a richer language that evoques romanticism, just like the moon does. They also say it influences life on earth on the instintive and emotional aspects.

The title is not for me of course but for Machu Picchu. it´s just that being up there in one of the new 7 wonders of the modern world, i thought to myself, why not immortalize my face here to be a testimony for the future generations =P.
Also my mate jorge took only overexposed portraits of me. The light was great but difficult to manage, and he´s not into photography. Then I HAD TO SHOOT MYSELF!!! I mean... take me some photos.
You can call me vain but... Ok ok, Call me vain if you want to.

Sacred Citadel

Well, finally flickr improved the image quality. These last day i noticed they lowered the resolution on the website. I´m glad today i can see images in great resolution. didn´t that happen to you as well ??

I have a portrait taken by friend in this cool alley in Machu picchu, but sadly it´s so overexposed, he didn´t know how to manage a reflex and i can totally understand that. After that happened i took advantage of the pov i realized while he was taking me the photo.

Hope you are not bored of machu pichu cause i still have so many images of the different areas to show.

I will catch up soon =)

Trekking por Urubamba

Urubamba Trekking.

Once the transport dropped us off in the town of Santa Teresa. we started the most fantastic trekking for the jungle, searching for the hidden citadel of Machu Picchu. It was one of the coolest trekkings ever as i had the chance to experience an environment that is not seen in chile ( we don´t have jungles ) When the night came we were received by the lights of fireflies surrounding us. A magical moment i will never forget. =)

Tha croc´s tail.

People say that there are many shapes that you can see in machu picchu. Some say that it´s possible seeing a face profile in the wayna picchu mountain ( at the back) and that this area of the construction looks like a crocodile seen from its tail.
well you can judge for yourself, i think it´s true actually =)
