A couple weeks ago this Moringa got blown over. The roots had ripped a bit and within a day the tree had lost all it's small limbs & leaves. Since then it's been a pot with a 4 ft stick in it, sitting in a shaded corner in my backyard waiting to stage a comeback. I wasn't sure it was going to make it, but in celebration, I had to post a pic.

different than my normal style of photo. Neighbor and I looked thru a TON of my favorite photos on flickr the other day & some of them must have soaked into my subconscious. When I was deciding on this photo, I was reminded of flickr friend roomee. gotta love access to endless inspiration that the flickr universe provides.

seed pod from one of my Moringa Oleifera trees. the immature green seed pods are also called drumsticks.

I decided to remove the pod because it was just so large. I'd rather the tree continue to enjoy this warm weather and worry about growing, and not pouring all it's energy into supporting the weight of the seed pod. It ended up being around 21 inches or so.

my friend's the nanny of this kid. little while back I'd promised to open the seed pod with them when it came time, and we'd all figure out what the inside looked like. it was pretty cool if i do say so.
