Shanghai - Sunset Before The Storm

Quick shot while staying late at work - the title is a little bit sensational. There were two tropical cyclones on tracks towards Shanghai, this caused sort of a panic within the Chinese bloggers world.

Actually nothing really happened, none of the two cyclones came even close to really hitting Shanghai. Bit of high water on the Huangpu River. And not even gale force winds in the city. Out in Hangzhou Bay and the Yangtze Mouth the wind did just reach storm strength. See where this picture was taken.. [?]

Shanghai - Industrial Fire

Smoke from a burning factory in the "Spare Parts Assembly Zone" of the "Shanghai International Automobile City" in Anting, Jiading District. The interesting smoke ring is the reminder of an explosion - a fuel tank (or such) blew up.

Shanghai - Anting "Old Street"

As everywhere around Shanghai places are redeveloped for tourism, Anting Town could not pass this trend. A section of the oldest parts of the town, close to the border with Jiangsu Province, has been redeveloped as "Anting Old Street" (安亭老街). This channel is between two of the streets that form the "Old Street". See where this picture was taken. [?]

Fangtai (方泰) is a small town within the suburbs of Shanghai, located at the border of the "Spare Parts Assembly Zone" of the "International Automobile City". See where this picture was taken. [?]

Quick snap through the windscreen on the way to work. And yes, the car was moving. And yes again, that's a typical traffic situation.

Stitched panorama showing the edge of the "Spare Parts Assembly Zone" of the "Shanghai International Automobile City" in Anting, Jiading District. In the background the small town of Fangtai.

Shot from the roof of my workplace. See where this picture was taken. [?]

Stitched panorama from 8 shots with my little Panasonic, at 28mm focal length (35mm equivalent). Horizontal field of view is just over 270°. Size reduced to for upload.

As for all of these panoramic images: XXL view is a must for this image. The stitching is not perfect - I have to admit there are a few stitching errors along the 220kV power line.
