Tourists heading towards Christ Church College along this avenue which connects the Thames with the college and Christ Church Cathedral. One theory about the name is that before there were surfaced roads coffins would be brought by boat from outlying villages and then carried along the avenut for a funeral at the cathedral, this being the last "walk" of the deceased person

Now a privately owned narrowboat, this was formerly a restaurant boat in Oxford and Banbury. I have a soft spot for Rosamund as she is the boat on which I trained as a Boatmaster! The boat (at 72ft) is as long as a narrowboat can get and still fit into the canal locks. She is named after Rosamund Clifford the mistress of Henry II.

On August 29th 1964 a remarkable railtour visited the Cromford & High Peak Railway in Derbyshire. Passengers were carried in waggons and had to stand up. The line was closed fairly soon after this event. Not sure of the location for this one.
