We've obviously got some physical interface issues to deal with for little ones.

We had lots of parents lifting kiddos up onto the table. We'll probably build steps on one side for its permanent installation. We need to keep at least one side clear for people in chairs.

I actually had several people in chairs suggest an angled mirror above the table, which could be a nice way to show people behind the crowd what the heck, everyone is looking at. The technical aspects of these sorts of interactives present so interesting accessibility chalenges.

Sara and I suffered through some serious paper cuts in the name of informal science education. But people were really excited about the 3D maps that NCED had produced. It was fun to quiz people on their geography and geology.

The TacTile table that we were demonstrating is inherently sensitive to light since it uses IR cameras to sense your touches on the surface. So I was pretty impressed with how well it worked under these open air booths.

I had a super interesting conversation with a lady in her 70s about this piece. She positively demanded that the artist provide more context. She really wanted to know what he was trying to say. Was it about the environment, or was that just her own perspective. One of those great Art Prize moments.
