one style of photography that i've always admired has been street portraiture and street photography. i've been smitten with the photographs of Noah Stevens, Brian Day, Markus Schwarze and kalvinchirstianrusli, all here on Flickr.

I figured St Patty's day was a good day to start: it was beautiful, sunny, the first day above 60 degrees since last year, and everyone was "celebrating" with their favorite beverage.

Sure enough, everyone was happy to oblige me and my camera, and it was a very fun day.

I hope to do many more of these, because asking a total stranger if i can photograph them is totally out of my comfort zone, therefore i must.

Fishing and conversation

the 1st 60 degree day in Detroit in months!

these guys had all their fishing gear lined up along the railing, and we wondered what they'd be fishing for in the Detroit River!

but, a lot of times fishing is more about the relaxation and the company. These 2 guys were having a pretty intense conversation about the shoreline/ riverbank. There are huge floats of ice flowing rapidly by.

For those of you not from the area: that's Windsor, Ontario Canada across the river. It actually lies South of Detroit. :c )

what a beautiful day in Detroit today. 65 degrees and sunny! I was so thankful to be able to get out and spend some time in the city with Cherie!

Sadly, Hart Plaza was nearly deserted, save for a small handful of people on their lunchbreak. What the? Where the heck was everybody?
