The sunset wasn't amazing in fairness, clear skies and the golden light seemed to struggle through but I was pleased with this image with a very quirky composition. It was such an eerie place, the crash area was much larger than expected.<br /> <br /> A little more about the crash &quot;On 3 November 1948, USAF Boeing RB-29A Superfortress 44-61999, of the 16th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron, 91st Reconnaissance Group, 311th Air Division, Strategic Air Command; crashed at Higher Shelf Stones, Bleaklow, whilst en route from Scampton to Burtonwood. All 13 crewmembers were killed. A large amount of wreckage is still visible, as a memorial to the crash. We were perfectly based for Elgol, so after a bit of rush we made it and there was already some gorgeous light about. It was worth it though and one of the lovely things about Skye is you have mountains, lochs and the coast all within easy reach. A couple of people pointed out that the picture I posted yesterday was actually looking towards Cleat and seems to be a common misconception. This was taken from roughly the same spot but I just turned round to take a photo I haven't seen that much of.
